hey guys i am looking to buy a 93s13 with a black top. during the test drive the owner had me come to a stop and rev up an let off the gas. now iam not buying the car with the intention to at every stop light say look at me by bringin the rpms up. he wanted to show me that the car dies if you do that. it has a hks bov on it and i have been reading to see what people are saying on here about that and couldnt find a good anwser. the car runs good unless you rev up high then just stop. now i heard that the air sensor is telling the engin to match that with the fuel and when you let off it lets out the air but the fuel is still being matched to that air flow. i also read that the MAF could be bad and casuing it to do that as well. so iam asking some input from you guys and mabe some dos and donts with trying to fix it.

If you don't want the car to die - the simplest solution would be to recirculate the BOV - it's been covered in the SR fourm many a time. You lose the "woosh" noise made from an atmospheric BOV - but you should have less issues this way.

well that's unfortunate, b/c you don't actually lose it...it's a little muffled, but clearly still there. i had a greddy rs recirc'd on my last swap and it sounded just the same as when it was atmospheric...just a tiny bit quieter. hell, the stock bypass valve is kinda loud on my current one.
