I've been having trouble getting my SR running. I checked the ecu for codes and got code 12 for the maf. I checked the wiring and it seems alright. I checked it for power and the black/white wire was getting 12 volts but the white wire is getting .8. Is that the correct amount. The problem is that it is hard to get it started and keep it running. When it does start it will sometimes stall as soon as I give it some gas. I also have 2 different maf that I have been switching between but still cant get the engine to run correctly. Also this is for a red top.

.8v might be below spec. Looking at the SOHC FSM for 240s (the MAF is a cross over with SOHC KAs), spec says it should be between 1.0v and 3.0v at idle
Page 1 of this link

However, the S14 Silvia manual says between .8v and 1.5v. But I'm fairly certain that S13 and S14 MAFs are different since the P/Ns are listed as different.

I looked in my 180SX manual, but it says to refer to a section I don't have.

So i've looked around and i think i am getting the correct voltage. But since i got the code 12 from the ecu I tried another maf. This time i am now getting a code 23. I assume I am reading it wrong because I cant find a code 23 in the ecu codes list. I'll also made a video so someone can check to see if im reading it right. I'm running out of ideas.

You're getting two codes.

Code 11: Crankshaft Position Sensor
Code 12: MAF

If you're MAF is popping out the correct voltage, then it could possibly be the ECU. If you have a friend with an ECU that you could plug in and check the system. If you've tried two different MAFs, then the common link would be the ECU. You can also check the grounds for the ECU to make sure they're not bad as well. Poor grounding will cause the ECU to run improperly.

RedTop MAF has voltage about 1.7V at idle (you can find this value in japan manual). You can't use s14 MAF on redtop engine.

Do you have the jap manual? All I have is the mechanical section and the optional electrical (Climate control and other miscellaneous crap I'm not concerned with). I would KILL to have the full electrical and ECM manuals for a JDM S13.

Thanks for the help, last time i worked on my car and checked the ecu I got code 55 but could not get the car to start. Im going to put some new plugs in and see if that helps. I am also going to look over my harness to see if i can find why I am only getting .8 to my signal wire. I don't want to spend any more money but my last option will be just to buy a new wiring harness.
