Yeah so here is the problem, i own a r32 Nissan skyline with an RB20det.My ECU reads MAF error, how ever i have tried 2 different MAF, with no change in car.I have also used 2 different ECU and still no change. i have replaced all vac hoses and am sure there is no leak.

I am no to the point there must be a broken wire somewhere in the harness, so my plan was just to run it directly from ecu to the MAF connector, I have checked and the plug has good continuity as well,

I know the MAF uses 4 wire, one 12 V. a Ground, a signal wire (returns to ECU) and a signal ground.can i run just a fused 12v and run a chassis ground, and just run the 2 signal wires back to the ECU??

i just want to miss as much of the old harness i can, thanks ahead of time,. WHAT WIRES can i RUN where??

Janktacular.

Why dont you use the FSM to test the wires like everyone else does? lol.

How about doing a continuity/ohm test across between the ecu and the maf?

What makes you sure its not the ECU?

Does it stumble like a bad maf or what?

i have read the fsm, i am not a newbe.

i have removed the maf plug and tested the wires at about 6inch in length. NO brakes,

I have used 2 differnent RB20 MAFS but have the same effect. MY ECU reads code 12>

I know where the problem is, i just need to know what i can do to rewire the maf.

wiring directly might help but its also a little risky..dont wanna cross the wrong wires and then burn your ecu..so just be carefull and take your time check the wiring in the plug make sure that little pin inside the plug isn't bent or not sticking far enough to make a good connection between the maf and harness

I know its risky thats way im here just making sure what to connect to what.

I have a pin out for the ecu, i know that there is one signal wire +. and there is a sensor ground, i believe all sensors have to ground to this to complete the circuit.

the plug has 4 wires, the 2 inside are ground, and the 2 out side are positive, I just need to know can i run the power wire from any 12v source and ground to the chassis. and just run the to middle wires back to the ecu.

thanks guys

You still having this issue, if so, shoot me an email [email protected] ...I had the same issue and I also can help you out with the wiring.

find the PINs for the MAF signal wires and put a t-pin on them. find the corresponding pin on the MAF connector and put a T-pin in it.

Get a multimeter hook up the leads of it to each T pin, one circuit at a time.

You'll have the red lead ( or black ) hooked up to the MAF connector, and the other lead hooked up to the ecu T-pin. Switch the multimeter to OHMS, to check for circuit continuity. YOU WILL NEED LONG *** MULTIMETER LEADS. (Alligator clips on the multimeter leads help out a bunch.)

If you read anything up to or higher than 1 ohm then you have a problem. if the multimeter reads 0.L then you have either not correctly connected the pins and circuit or you have an open between the ECU and MAF, in which case the harness will more than likely need to be pulled.
