Hello everyone! A few months ago I posted about my car stalling. A mechanic friend of mine and I are pretty sure that it is the MAF causing these issues since tapping on it makes the car shut off. This is great but there's a problem. The MAF for my specific car seems to be non existent. According to some research I've done the MAF design was changed in early '95. The older style has a three pin plug while mine has a four pin. For the life of me I can't find any 4 pin MAFs anywhere. I've looked on eBay and at a local parts yard and my friend used his connections as a mechanic to search even further but we have both turned up nothing. The only ones I can find are very expensive. Amayama has one for 639 usd. I don't want to pay that much if I don't have to. Does anyone on here have a 4 pin MAF they would be willing to sell me or can someone point me in the right direction? Is my MAF fixable?

They're out there, though less common.
example:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Infinit ... 5838195245
note the P/N suffix changed from 61u00 to 61u01.
btw, I paid $430.27 for a new 61u00 from IoS almost 17 years ago.
So maybe the amayama part is not unreasonable.
Yours may be able to be fixed if it's something like broken solder inside (pretty common).

Lots of parts on older models have superseding part numbers. The easiest way to check that is to plug your VIN into InfinitiPartsDeal.com. That will let you locate the original part number. If there's a supersession, the page for the part will have a line saying "Replaced By:" and show the most recent p/n for the part.

Wow I didn't know that! I'll try fixing the solder joints first. I heard the ones for the connector were often cold soldered. I'll reflow them

Agreed. However in this particular instance, it's not just a supersede. the 61u00 still applies to all G50 with the 3-pin connector, the 61u01 (total digression, I would have actually expected the p/n to be 68u00, but it isn't) is for the 4-pin interface with the rounded connector.
They do not interchange.
