MAF conversion..95 to 98-maf?

Hey guys.....new in this system...got question to anyone who have tried to use the second generation MAF to a first generation KA24DE.....i have 95 ka24de with CAI, now Im tryng to use the 2nd gen. MAF, after doing it, my engine starts to die out, didnt totaly shuts off, but, close to it,....IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO DO? ANY SUGGESTION/HELP/ADVISE will be appreciated
