I just got another R32(this makes 5 of that model for me) I'll post progress reports as I tinker. The RB20 is covered in a fine layer of dust but that just means no tards have been messing with it. Big 17" rims, Alpine stereo Cusco struts, Apex muffler, HKS turbo timer and Trust boost gauge already on it. It runs strong and the body is solid so I will finally keep this one. And for you guys that always suspected motorex was greedy, here's how much. The car cost me $750.00, average from a car lot for something like this would be about $2500.00.I am planning on putting in my Apex Multichecker first and doing a baseline dyno run at a local shop to set up the MC so I can verify hp increases as I do things. This should help the people with questions about what to expect from these imported junkyard RB20s and give insight into basic mods they can do without breaking the bank.:)

I ran into a guy that swears the purple nurple is hiding in a garage somewhere, I hope so. Thumper's owner is still taking good care of it, he's proud of it and I am happy it's loved. Gator died an ugly death at the hands of a chump. the last one i sold was so generic i wouldn't recognize it if it crashed into me but the guy who bought it was kind of a goof so it's likely blowed up. The Warpig returned to the drags one more time and pounded on a stroked and carbed L28 240 Z with some Nittos I borrowed from another racer who popped his SR(he had no use for them :D ) I had to strip Damien:( It was just too rusty and custom to make it through anouth inspection. Most of it's parts will go either to the RX7 to sell it or to my new Skyline, it had it's time and claimed it's scalps, a feirce warrior has passed.I have to concentrate on the RX7 first because i can get sick coin when it's done and that will leave me with the R32, the R30 and my bike, I can support a svelte stable like that.:)

Mad...your cars have such unique names...I'm glad to hear you still have the R30 though, that's a cool car. A shame Damien is gone now though :(

too bad someone dosen't go into importing cars and converting them to us spec, and give motorex a run for their money. that would drive prices down a bit.

It balances out, I can't get decent machine work done around here. "crank balance, what's that"? "Torque plate, duh"? :tisk:

Well I have gone through four R32s, sold them all but I always missed them. The R32 is a very balanced car; good power, great balance, serious brakes and suspension. I decided to keep one to drive everyday and I fell into this one. I wish you guys could see how well kept this car was; no oil or water leaks, no oil in the intercooler pipes, radiator hoses not crunchy and proper antifreeze mix, I am lucky to find such a clean RB20DET. The inspection is due in april so I will not do anything freaky until that is done. This engine is so tight it's coming out and going on an engine stand. I have an RB25DE and R33 transmission to go in. By then my rollcage and electronics will be in and the car will be ready to get silly:D

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead.

RB Motoring already imports Skylines independently from Motorex. Unlike Motorex they won't drive customer cars for promotioal purposes. As for price, last I saw, Motorex wanted something like $49,500 for an R33 V-Spec. I've met someone who bought one (Awaiting legalization) from RB-M for about $9500 less. How's that for price drop?

I hate to sound like a know-it-all but... RB Motoring is completely different from Motorex. They get they're cars from a different source and legalize them independently from Motorex. The rumor is that the RB guys use to do business with Motorex but was frustrated by the lack of morals and ethics from Motorex (ie. Motorex lies and cheats). Sorry to thread jack Scientist.

Mad, quick question. Which do you prefer to drive, FC3S or R32?

Actually, you're right, it's not a rumor. Sean Morris, probably the knowledgeable person regarding Skylines in the US (he's hung out with exvitermini's Mario), left Motorex for exactly that reason. RB used to have to legalize through Motorex but now they can do it themselves.

f8sjester, $40,000 is cheaper than $50,000. The margin between 50 and 40 is quite large. If it's still too much, don't buy one.

And in an attenpt to put this back on track, dosen't it cost a l ot to own a car in Japan? Weirdo taxes, parking space, etc.?
