I originally ordered my McKinney mounts in Apr. I ordered them befor my Rb25 showed up hoping to make a quick and timely swap. When the motor showed up AFTER the mounts, I find that the motor has GT-R R32 mounts on it and an RB20 transmission. So I contact Mac. After chatting I send back my mounts for the correct ones with a $25 money order for return shipping. As well as have him get me a yolk for the driveshaft he sent me so I can still use it with the RB20 transmission (yes I know the stock drive shaft will work with the 20 transmission but that part had already been tossed to the landfill). I also ask for an amount for the yolk at the time of the chat. I was also informed that the transmission mount I sent back would need re-powder coated due to scratches it recieved sitting in my shop. No problem, I'll pay for that. I also find out that whoever unpacked the mounts I sent back didn't bother to check the envelope on the top of the box and subsiquently threw out the $25 money order for the shipping.

NOW, This was over 3 months ago!

I am still waiting for an amount so I can pay him what I owe for the powder coat and the yolk. Not to mention my car has been waiting for a motor all summer because of lack of contact by Mac. I have over $15,000 invested in a car I can't drive! He won't even return my emails. And he told me a month ago(after I asked for my money back) that he doesn't do returns. How convenient. He has $600 worth of my merchandise and I have to wait on him to decide he wants to let me know how much I still owe him and get me my FREAKIN' PARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand. My first purchase was fast and I bought the whole package from him. Over $3500 worth of stuff like wiring job, FMIC, cooler piping, mounts, Koyo Radiator, the FREAKIN' WORKS! And this is the kind of customer service I get. I had no problem with having to pay for the damage on the transmission mount, I have been polite, I have sent emails, I sent payment fast the first time and would this time if I knew how much!!!!

I was going to buy one of his Lexan rear windows for my carbon fiber hatch but screw that.

Like previously stated, try email and make sure the subject line is something that makes it look like you are a customer. So many people are constantly emailing and calling them and asking for free information or just window shopping and that can really overwhelm a small shop like his.

Look on the bright side, at least you know that Mckinney is a reputable shop and will take care of you(although it may be a little slow at times). There are plenty of other shops that would(and have) just run off with peoples money.

Mack is one of the nicest guys I have ever met and is ALWAYS willing to help out anyone. He spends over 1/2 his day on the phone giving free advice to people trying to help them get their cars running. Talk all the crap you guys want, but I have personally spent time on the phone with him asking stupid questions and he always helps, no matter what.

Mack is a great guy and always wants to do the right thing. I have nothing but good words for McKinney Motorsports.

I have to agree with Jon on this one. He is always helping me & almost always answers the phone. If not him them someone else. I can't even begin to explain how many countless hours of trouble shooting he has saved me. Mack is a good guy, sounds like someone else is a water head.

Yes, I agree, Mack is a nice guy. I am just not getting anywhere as far as getting my stiff here. he has always been nice to me, just tired of waiting.

Mack, the pics you asked for I sent every time. I have sent them 3 or 4 times now.

Talked to Mack just now on the phone. Trying to get this worked out. Sent the pics again.

Well, got it all taken care of, my stuff is on the way.

Mack wants $190 for the lexan rear hatch window. It is a savings of 20-30 lbs. Plus, if you go with the CF rear hatch like I did, You could probably be saving another 20-30 on top of that. I will do a post when I get it all together and compare.

talking with TIM and check out the prosses I found out that his email and pictures we put in the wrong folder. I'm working with 6 other buyers that have order kits that we wrong because the engine kit they bought were wrong for what they had. alot of kits are for RB26DETT /RB25DET into a R32 in Japan so they come with rb20 trans and R32 RB20DET adapters and rewired harness already for the R32. Sent him the parts today.

Its our bag for the delay. Sorry TIM!!!!!!

Check out what your getting before you buy, because most dealers DO NOT know what there selling or are putting together kit just to sell them...

You know... I was sort of feeling bad for Mack about this thread. I was thinking that it's too bad this issue has to get all the attention and maybe bring down his reputation a bit.

But, the more I think about it....

I think this thread actually isn't so bad for his reputation.

Think about this..

No company is perfect! There will always be a complaint here and there. But, if you have to have a complaint.. isn't this type a good complaint to have?

McKinney is very busy... So much so, that they struggle to keep up with all the calls, emails, etc...

Why are they busy? Because they have high demand for their work! Why? Because they have a great reputation for excellence in the work they do.

I would much rather have a company put their priority on the best possible products rather than putting out a so-so product and being really good with customer service.

just my $.02
