Hey guys...posted this on G35Driver.com and wanted to share my experience with everyone I can...here's my original post:

Gents (and ladies)--

Just a head's up here. I recently ordered a set of LampGards for my G35C from MacNeil Automotive products (aka WeatherTech or http://www.mats.com) which seemed like a very good $40 investment.

I tried placing the order over the web, but experienced difficulties so I called to confirm that my order had been received and they had my payment information. The girl on the line took down all my info and had someone CALL me back...at which point, they confirmed my order for COUPE LampGards.

Well, I receive them and they don't look quite right, but the instructions stated that there would be some excess material...so I go ahead with the application process but NEVER could get the thing to fit. So I call MacNeil and spoke to someone named DAVE and asked if there was any possibility that I had sedan LampGards rather than Coupe...and sure enough, that's what they sent me...well, asking about how we were going to handle this, he offered to SELL me another set at a discount (first 10%, then 25% after speaking with "his manager"). I said that that wouldn't be necessary and that I wasn't interested in doing business with them again...

Just an FYI for anyone who may be contemplating a purchase from them...I will NEVER purchase anything from them again.

Well, that's what got my attention about their product line...they're advertised in ALL the "reputable" car mags I get--Road & Track, Car and Driver, AutoWeek...and the website is fairly well done.

I felt comfortable ordering from them...but then, I know better now.

Get the correct order and dispute the charges for the first order with your credit card company as the goods not delivered to you.

You were on the phone with an idiot, he or she might have been there 2 days, a new employee, untrained and stupid, whenever you have this kind of problem, you keep asking to speak with their supervisor, and if you don't get your problem rectified you keep asking to speak to THEIR supervisor. The usual problem with this stuff is you are dealing with someone who doesen't have the power or authority to say YES. If you stay reasonably polite and keep asking to speak with people higher up in the food chain you will eventally reach someone who actually gives a cr@p apout the companys reputation. Probably a manager who can visualize his bonus disappearing over bad PR and you will get your refund. You should not give up with this.

Yeah...well, this Dave fellow identified himself as the manager when I asked to speak with the manager, then he quoted this "25% discount" after speaking with his manager...

You're right...unempowered employees are the basis for bad customer relations...

I'll keep everyone posted as this progresses...I really don't think, at the heart of it, MacNeil would be a bad company to deal with...but it doesn't change the fact that they handled my situation poorly

I agree with 99q45t_vl. You did not get what you paid for. Credit card companies do NOT screw around, as they must follow very strict credit laws. I've had to take things up with my CC many times, and they backed me up in every case but one. Read your CC statement. On the back there should be an address to where you can send a letter of dispute. You probably have 60 days to do so, but don't sit on it. Send it out. Email me if you want to see a sample of the letter I send. I just change the dates, vendor, and $ amount each time I mail it out.

I'd also advise them that unless th matter is resolved to your satisfaction, we'll be making this info available on a site that receives hits from 14 million CAR ENTHUSIASTS monthly. :D
