Perhaps my constructive criticism was taken out of context. I wasn't being condescending. Rather, I was simply trying to point out that even the most minor spelling and gramatical errors get a sponsorship proposal immediately tossed into the round file.
For the last two years, I reviewed sponsorship proposals for MB Quart electronics. It amazed me how guys with no competition experience, no track record, few, if any pictures of their car (and often not of the best quality), and a one-page sponsorship proposal would have the stones to request thousands of dollars worth of product. I actually had one guy send in a hand-written proposal on standard line paper, with no photos, a spelling or grammatical error every third word, wanting about $6K worth of retail product. :rolleyes
Sponsors aren't stupid.
My sponsorship proposal is 21 pages long, in full color, referencing my web site, goals and objectives of the project, deliverables, and what the sponsor can expect in return of their investment (endorsements, magazine articles, etc.). It also details my last 14 years in the competition scene. I have 25 sponsors as of right now, from Konig Wheels and Toyo Tires, to Unorthodox Racing and Fluidyne Radiators.
FWIW,
Scott
