im lookin into getting a 26 long block and changing my 25 out for it.. if i get a r33 26.. what will i need to change in the wiring to make it werk?.. and will the 26 computer hook up the the 25 harness?.

also with the 26 motor.. what tends to hit the strearing rack.. is the down pipe?

thanx for all the help.

hahaha.. yea. i figured its gonna be cheaper to buy the 26.. then to build the 25.. with custom pistons ect.. and i allready know the 26 is a proven motor.. and there is not to much known about the 25..

looking for sponcers.. to make the car faster.. looking to get into the NHRA, IDRC, ect street class..

What exactly would make the 26 sturdier than the 25? I thought the only real difference was 100cc's and the head?

You have much to learn...

At any rate... no the wiring harness is completely different, which means the ECU pin-outs won't be the same. The RB26 is a totally different animal, and yes it's the downpipe that hit's the steering linkage.

Plus if you would research your motor choice a little more you'd realize that for a buildup you want an R32 motor not the R33 motor.

:)

What sort of power are you looking to achieve. I can help you there.

dont get the RB26DET, get a RB30/25 hybrid now that is unique and powerful, all you have to do is buy a RB30 block swap out the old internals with some forge and a couple of other things like oil pump and water pump, pop on the RB25 head and you should be good, and you'll dont have to swap engine harness'

i was thinking about the rb30 conversion.. but.. they dont rev to high... thus.. during shifts u are gonna drop outta boost with a larger turbo..

im just thinking of goin 26.. then ventually when the money comes up.. going HKS 2.8 stroker..

Sponsors...you'll make a better written presentation if you know how to spell the fundamental words of a sponsorship proposal...

Perhaps my constructive criticism was taken out of context. I wasn't being condescending. Rather, I was simply trying to point out that even the most minor spelling and gramatical errors get a sponsorship proposal immediately tossed into the round file.

For the last two years, I reviewed sponsorship proposals for MB Quart electronics. It amazed me how guys with no competition experience, no track record, few, if any pictures of their car (and often not of the best quality), and a one-page sponsorship proposal would have the stones to request thousands of dollars worth of product. I actually had one guy send in a hand-written proposal on standard line paper, with no photos, a spelling or grammatical error every third word, wanting about $6K worth of retail product. :rolleyes

Sponsors aren't stupid.

My sponsorship proposal is 21 pages long, in full color, referencing my web site, goals and objectives of the project, deliverables, and what the sponsor can expect in return of their investment (endorsements, magazine articles, etc.). It also details my last 14 years in the competition scene. I have 25 sponsors as of right now, from Konig Wheels and Toyo Tires, to Unorthodox Racing and Fluidyne Radiators.

FWIW,

Scott

Not that I am aware of...

But then again, my offices just moved, and we have a new phone number.

For future reference, my new work number is 678.808.8800. I call Glenn this week with my new direct line phone number...

Forgot the orginal guestion! No the wiring and computer are different. On the TT the rear turbo hits the steering(not with our kit). The head (RB26) Needs mods to fit the 25 block and the other way too.

No !! he did not have to do custom steering!!!! Just move the oil and water lines to clear the steering and build a custom down pipe....WE done them and several customer have done them with no problems.
