Ok so here's the situation, I have a '90 hatch with a KA24E Automatic and for this particular project I'm leaning toward keeping the motor, I love how much torque that thing puts out. But I am going to turbo charge it eventually and I want to work the head buit I have no idea what to do with the head, I've never machined one before.

What I've done:EGR removedPacesetter HeaderGreddy Ti-CInjen Cold Air Intakeand a bunch of cosmetic stuff.

What I have planned:CP Forged PistonsCrower CamHKS fuel rail and injectorsHigh Capacity Oil PanMSD Ignition6 speed swapHKS turbo

I have built a SR head but not a KA head but i imagine it's simliar to a extent.

As far as machine work goes just get a good port job and a good valve job. 3-angle/ 5-angle valve job. Also you can deck the head to make a nice smooth surface for the new MLS headgasket you will be putting on there. And yes you have to use a MLS headgasket. Go with Apex-i

For head internals get new valve seals, guides, springs, and retainers. Then get the Cams you want. The KA head flows pretty goos as is but with these upgrades your head should be able to reliably habdle any boost you throw at it.

Head over to the KA-T section im sure the guys in there have a lot of insight into what makes a good KA head setup.
