Machine work

I'm getting ready to rebuild my KA24e well my extra one to be ready for turbo. What I was wondering is what machine work should I have done and if anyone has experience about how much it should cost? What would be the minimal work done and what extra can be done, I was either going to try and keep it stock or .020 over not sure yet.

MinimalMag the block Hot tank hone the cyl walls

Things you should do bore .02 over gap your rings resurface the head/block

Every machine shop is different, you have to call them up and see what their prices are.

I paid $360 at my machine shop.. that included:

Block hot tanked, bored over .5mm, honed, decked, new freeze plugs

Pistons + rods weigh matchedFlywheel, crank, crank pulley balancedCrank polished and checked clearances.

ok thanks thats what i was hoping for but idk because everything is so damn expensive on long island and nyc haha. but thats exactly what i had on the list of things to be done. Anyone know any shops in the long island area.

yea theres a place called centereach auto parts...they do all the machine work...im gonna send them my motor when i get it out bc they do some good work

not sure on their prices but ive always gotten flywheels cut and resurfaced and my dad has sent them engines for work so they do a good job.
