So I was bored at work today, I started reading through some threads here, and saw the power valve screw thingamabob thread about putting locktite on the screws so they don't back themselves out...yeah yeah..all thats great..but what I saw was the intake manifold runners. More specifically, the inside of the stock intake manifold. OMG, saying they are rough, and could probably benefit from some machine work is an understatement. Then I start thinking of the rest of the intake system (heads) and am interested in just how much better the stock intake manifold, and heads might actually flow with some proper machine work? Maybe some extrude honing on the manifold, and a port and polish on the heads, maybe some better valves? (I know someone with a lathe so making valves isn't anything new) What I'm wondering is, has anyone tried this yet on a VQ35DE yet, and if so what kind of numbers are they seeing?
start throwing out ideas, I don't mind sending off a spare head and intake manifold to my tunner at Nismo if I can source one in the states.
