Hi all,

Returned from dropping off the last of my parts. Since I'm having ARPs installed, they said they'd have to perform a "Precision Align Bore."

They explained it to me, made sense but I'm surprised no one here has mentioned this process before... Is this absolutely needed? Sounds to be the case.

when installing ARP studs, an align bore isn't always needed, but sometimes is.

it is a good idea for them to check and make sure everything is still within tolerances.

i just had my block redone and ARP's installed. the block was checked and did not require the align bore, but yours may be different.

Thanks for sharing. I also have to find some piston oil squirters now, guy I bought the block from didn't include them.

yeah, it is sometimes necessary when you install aftermarket main studs, not when you do just the head studs.. My machine shop guy and I talked about it as well.
