OK so this being my first post in a while I decided to make it about my most recent encounter with a 240 hater. So here I am just minding my own business at my freind's house when this Mach1 dude, who is his neighboor, decides he'd like to make a few "comments" about my beloved 240 sx. He starts out by saying he heard that I was hoping to put a SR20DET into my 89 piece of Nissan excellence. So he starts to bash me for even thinking about investing that kind of money into a "peice of crap car" like mine. To which me and my friends decide to retort with several facts about how this will be a very worthwhile investment. He seems to believe that doing this conversion will snap my drive shaft and axles. So being the worried n00b that I am and wanting to exstinguish my hopes and asperations before they take too deep a root I decided to come here and ask some people who actually know what they are talking about. SO tell me... guys will the SR20 snap my drive shaft and screw my clutch over? Is this a worthwhile investment?THNX FOR HELPIN a newb

lol, go smack that kid upside the head for not knowing what he is talking about, i dont know what the exact specs are, but i know unless you got well past 400hp you've got nothing to worry about (well, you will need a upgraded clutch) :)

maybe your freind's neigbor comes from planet honda, where upgraded halfshafts are needed for applications in excess of 300hp

he drives a mach1 mustang? we're talking the 70's version? why the crap is he even talking to you? for the most part, the buck-toothed crowd that the mach1 attracts (although it is a fine machine) dont even look twice at a 240, let alone linger around and spit out engine jargon they will never need to know.

my advice to you is to learn all you can on your own. dont listen to a G-D word people say to you (unless you truly trust them). especially dont listen to people who just go around picking fights. laugh on the inside that they will never amount to much of anything in life. (and they probably have small ****s.)

think for yourself.

oh yah, no worries, I dont think I was really phased, just being sarcastic u know? (maybe i shoulda used asteriks) but yeah, this guy, he knows some of his stuff, but nothing about the 240sx, cause if he did, Im pretty sure he wouldnt take the stand hes taking.

ok, he called your car a piece of crap repeatedly, you don't know him, and for some reason, you didn't deck him? just hit him next time and back up to within an inch of his head once he's on the ground and burn his face while you rev it up.

Even in 1975 when they threw the 302 in it they had a whopping 135 hp. The 74 2.8 has 105hp it has the same engine as my ghia. It may not be powerful, but I had a lot of fun with my little car. Now I need to restore it. They do look neat IMO.

Ok imagine this car with silver paint, and a full black vinyl top. Also rally wheels, and slightly larger rear quarter windows.
