It was an auction car that I believe the engine was damaged purposely as an insurance job .. so it's my problem currently. Engines are 3500- 5000 dollar range plus installationPalmerWMD wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 10:26 amThe parts cost for engine may be cheaper.
But the labor cost will be significant higher sadly, you may also need to buy extra parts down in the powertrain.
BUt theoretically it would certainly be possible.
PS: What happened with your engine?
PS:2: What kind of engine prices did you find?
I also want to know if a Nissan Titan can be used i found a very affordable engine on ebayPalmerWMD wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 6:30 amWell we know 2 things:
- The 3.7L has enough power for your car and
- It fits into the enigne bay
But I am concerned about the ECU/TCU and even some hard parts down in the powertrain.
if you had a wrecked donor car with salvageable parts it may be ok ( still a lot of labor costs though)
And you'll get a lot more uncertainty..
It may be better to bite the bullet and get a used V8 ...
Well if I was gonna drop big money I'd might as well get a q70 engine or a ls lol ...PapaSmurf2k3 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:22 pmThe Titan V8 has some different tuning and sensors than the Infiniti does. I wouldn't recommend it. You MIGHT be able to use it if you swap over the intake and exhaust manifolds, but you'd be in uncharted waters.
The VR30 would be a pretty big tear up, but yeah it could be done. You'd be looking at big money though.
