Welcome to NICO!

I think they're fine cars, but some others with experience will have to chime in. The factory warranty is probably up, I think Nissan is 3yr/36k? Maybe Infiniti is more- it'd be worth investigating further though.

A quick carfax will tell you about any open recalls or major service performed on the car.

It's definitely out of warranty but at such a low mileage you should be able to get an Infiniti Elite warranty relatively cheap.

As for the recall, I wouldn't worry.

Now that the temperatures are cold here in the NE, my car PURRS. It seems to only get a bit sluggish when it's warm for whatever reason. I'm really enjoying it right now.

5.6 totally sucks. It's all about the 3.7. The 3.7 will most definitely run circles around the weak 5.6. :bigthumb: Joke

With that kind of mileage. :bigthumb: You should snatch her up. I like the Elite warranty idea. :dblthumb: Either way. Your going to have a sweet entry level luxury car that holds it's own in power with a lot of other cars in the same category. Some folks think the power is under rated. I say pull the trigger. Buy her. You won't have buyers remorse. :mike

Haha!!! Maybe in HOT weather off the line but in cooler weather you would need a supercharger to keep up! It was 48*F here last night and I pulled on a newer 5.0 Mustang messing around.

Welcome to the forum, I bought my "12 M56x last October. From the Infiniti Owner's Portal:
Every new Infiniti comes with the peace of mind of Standard Infiniti Limited Warranties:
4-year/60,000-mile Basic coverage
5-year/50,000-mile Emission Control coverage
6-year/70,000-mile Powertrain coverage
7-year/unlimited-mileage Corrosion coverage
10-year/unlimited-mileage Seat Belt Warranty
4-year/60,000-mile Genuine Infiniti Accessories Basic coverage (when purchased at time of vehicle sale)
Up to 7-year/100,000-mile Infiniti Extended Protection Plan (optional)
2-year/24,000-mile Federal Emission Performance Warranty
4-year/60,000-mile Federal Emission Defect Warranty
8-year/80,000-mile Federal Emission Long Term Defect Warranty
4-year/60,000-mile California Emission Performance and Defect Warranties
7-year/70,000-mile California Emission Long Term Defect Warranty

Based on your year and mileage, you can reference the info above. The V8 engine is awesome, built on the proven 5.6 platform. Performance wise, not as many mods available as the 3.7 but with 420 hp in a midsize sedan you're pretty much kicking butt. There is a recall on the timing chain so you will need to run your VIN number to see if it's been done (free of charge, loaner provided). There are a handful of TSB's that your dealer can check to see if they need to be done. Good luck with your car!

My M56x is a joy. Mine is also used 2011, with very low mileage like yours. No worries. No regrets.
I'd buy it again, in a heartbeat. Love driving this car.
I bought a 10yr extended warranty, cuz service ain't gonna be cheap on it, when it breaks.
Take a good look at the underside, and compare it to other cars at that price point. Wow.
Everything you see on this car is built like a tank: suspension, brakes, etc.
Really like how this car handles on the road. At a whopping 420 hp, it goes like stink. :-)
Toughest part is keeping within the speed limits. :-) Never been stuck in snow.
Most body panels are made of non-rusting materials (not steel), so less rust prone.
Trunk is kinda small for me, but that wasn't a deal breaker.
I had the timing chains fixed, per recall, just in case, even though it had no problem (before or after the fix).
This M56 is very reliable. And wife approved (oh yeah).

This car has 23000 miles had the timing chain done on Oct 2015 before recall was issued. I called Infiniti and ran the Vin with them they told me since the work was done.. Oct 2015.. that the warranty for the timing chain. 12 months.. which came first..or 36000 miles.. Is over.. So I'm skeptical... But if I had to purchase this .. where is the cheapest Infiniti dealer in the u.s to purchase this warranty?? And is there any issues should I be worried about after they performed this timing chain recall? I'm reading various articles.. Some of the repairs are successful.. But some aren't? Can some clarify if there are more successful than unsuccessful attempts?

So it was replaced already before the recall was issued? That's strange with such low mileage, wonder what the story was?

How many miles were put on it after the timing chain was done. If it was driven for 5k or more any gremlins are likely fixed. If wasn't really driven after the work and you're not buying a warranty I would probably steer clear.

I had my 2012 done at about 60,400 miles. I will say that my experience was positive. I live in the Winston-Salem, NC area, and Modern Infiniti did a jam up job. The timing chain replacement is a pretty big job, requiring the removal of several components as well as the draining of all of the major fluids; engine coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid, differential fluid (AWD) and power steering fluid. Although there are a few folks who had performance issues after the timing chains were replaced, it seems that most of the complaints revolved around the reinstalling of the various components, as opposed to the timing chain itself. Improper filling of the fluids, leaking fluids, missing and/or damaged parts, scratched paint, etc. all indicative of substandard dealer shop practice, and of course evident once the car was picked up. If the car in question is running good and everything under the hood is fine, no leaks, etc. and the body looks good then chances are the job was a success. I can only vouch for my car, and I can tell you that I have no regrets with my purchase. As far as the extended warranty is concerned, there is a thread at the top of the forum on extended warranties. A lot of good info there. As far as I know, the price is pretty close no matter where you buy it.
