Has anyone out there done any performance upgrades to an M56? Custom exhaust systems? ECU reprogramming? Forced air induction? Dyno tests?

as far as aftermarket exhaust, there's Stillen and maybe one other can't remember the name, as far as programing, there's uprev and a couple of others, far as headers, unless it's custom build don't think so, some of the other fellas will chime in also

stm37s, thank you for the reply!
I am aware of those upgrades, just wondering if anyone has actually got any done, and what kind of improvements the modifications made. The Stillen exhaust is only a catback system and the stock system is extremely restrictive with 1 7/8" pipes due to Infiniti trying to keep the car quiet. I am looking to go to a custom exhaust shop and get everything all the way up to the headers replaced including installing hiflow cats.
I have yet to find a single person that has used the uprev reprogramming with this car but would love to hear the results if anyone has.

If you plan on going with headers and hi-flow cats, then yes you will need to be tuned for it to run correctly. As headers being readily available for this model, I have not seen any, but one option might be companies that manufactures the long tube headers for the truck platforms, specifically the Qx56, as they have the same motor as your M56, I'm not saying to purchase those FT headers for the truck platform and put it on your car, just contact them and see if there is any plans on them making them. The design on the exhaust manifold is different from your VK56 than the version of the VK56 offered in the Titan and Armada.
I know Nissan redesigned the exhaust manifold for this new VK56 motor, due to the old design cracking due to high heat from the cats being so close to the exhaust port of the motor. I would actually leave the stock ones on since they due breath and flow very well. Just have a custom exhaust fabbed up from the cats back and you should be good. It will increase the exhaust flow with a nice tone.
