Hello Everybody!

I am going to be upgrading my M56 with Paddle Shifters. I have found a vendor that sells the bracket to mount the paddle shifters, now I just have to find an inexpensive source for the steering column trim and paddle shifters; worst case I can buy both for $510 on amazon.

I will be taking pictures and making a write up to post in the forums for other M37/M56 owners.

Has anyone here done this to their car or seen it done to another M37/M56? I am very familiar with the process just curious if it has been done on here before.

I took apart my steering wheel/ column and saw the wiring for the paddle shifters but no column to screw them into.

I have found a vendor in Taiwan who makes a special bracket for them to mount to. A bracket you don't have to take the steering wheel off to install.

Once I have received and installed I will validate his claims and give out his contact info.

The shift paddles gives the interior a very nice sporty look. Please keep us posted and can't wait to see the write up. Goodluck!

The bracket arrived, looks like it will do the job just fine but I am waiting for the trim and paddles before I test fit.

I think you may have to take apart the steering wheel for a bracket like that but I hope i'm wrong.

I did not have to remove the steering wheel, there was an empty threaded hole that lined up perfectly. I only had to unplug the harness that is visible through the square hole in the bracket. The bracket fits very snug and square.

I get my paddle shifters and trim tomorrow so I will see how the rest of the install goes.

Very cool man. When it's all done, post up a list of parts.

If I understand correctly, all M's have the wiring for the paddle shifters, but the Sports are the only ones that actually have the shifters, right?

From what I have been told some have the wiring and some don't. Some may also come with the factory bracket already installed.

I saw that. I wouldn't want to get all the stuff to find out my car didn't have the wiring. X_X

My wife's BMW has flappy paddles that I never use lol. I think it's just the mod bug nagging at me.

Yeah you need to private message him, he does not have a website to order directly from; everything was done through PayPal.

His post count is too low to PM him, currently.

I suggest heading to the political forum and put a few replies in one of the Trump or Hillary megathreads and voice your opinion either way. Not that anyone cares or will change their minds - just to increase post counts while pissing people off in the process  .

(Reviving this old thread)

:inoutgay:

I purchased a set consisting of both the Bracket + Wiring Harness for my Q70L (3.7).

Date of of purchase was a on a Monday and items were received on a Thursday from Taiwan to VA(USA)

I installed the Paddle Shifters (along w/ the shrouds) in around an hour's time frame.

"rex9271" is a blessing to this club for sure!
I stand by his craftsmanship and highly recommend to anyone looking to make this addition to your M or Q.
