Hello guys, I have recently bought a M56S. As many of you know i have a blacken grill which is non chrome, however ive noticed those little chrome accents on the grill causing and issue and i was wondering if anybody else noticed it.

When its 12-3 PM if im at the right direction i notice there is a large long of very bright line reflecting toward people in front of me. I notice it mainly on street signs and such, IT is very bright and very long, similar to HUD at night.

I was wondering if anybody else noticed it? i see people adjusting their rear view mirrors and such when i get behind them.

Personally i dont care at all, its a shiny car and if its clean its clean lol but really anybody else noticed this ?

its like a very bright streak of light across the whole road. It would be hard for me to get a picture as it only happens when its very sunny and the sun hits it directly but its bizarre. it would shine thru a cars tail light make it seem as they hitting the brakes

I have never heard of this or seen this before.

If you can get a picture that would help a lot.

Very strange issue that you have.

Is the grill flaking off of the coating
If you are concerned I guess you could get it powder coated flat black not sure if it could handle the temps required to bake it on or you could paint it.

Once i can get a video from the dash board at 12 PM i will i just dont have a dash cam and taking pictures wont help.

I parked my car in the sun today and seen so many shiny reflections but i cant pinpoint which one. My co worker has a M37 and he never noticed lights bouncing off his car.

But is it seriously intense. When i get on the highway the light will reflect on the Hwy signs up to a mile away... Personally no, i dont care, but this is pretty serious hazard. The grill is not flaking and i will take a picture of my car front tomorrow when its sunny. another thing i could think about is that ive got my headlights buffed out recently and it looks brand new, so main the chrome headlight assembly is what makes this intense reflection ?

This is a weird observation but I'm going to see how this plays out though.

So do your headlights need to be on?
I guess not with the sun causing it also
Have you ever lifted the hood on the car when this is going on to see if there is a change?
This is so weird, like CRV said let's see how this plays out.
Very puzzling.

Good luck

No headlights are not on. and i dont like to flex but my car is extremely clean. It is a silver metallic color. The lines are not straight they are slanted. i thought maybe it was the chrome piece of the headlight ( the strip ) i have no clue, its been raining so i could not take a picture.

It is def reflecting major amounts of sunlight and we dont live in California or Florida, this is just Tennessee.

Puzzling to me too. When i look at the car in direct sunlight i see multiple spots of reflection ( the chrome strip on the grill, the curves of the hood, the headlights )

Once again i did just get my headlights buffed to new condition but i doubt nobody ever noticed. it took me a month to figure out those lights were coming from me. i had no idea lol

Tape your grill up with tape for a few minutes and drive around and see if you get the same thing...use painters tape or something.

Are you referring to the Do Not Block sign? Did you ever end up taping your grille to see if the issue went away?

It's possible that it's a reflection from the windshield. It might be worth your time to pull over at the overpass that you pictured and walk up to the bridge to see where the reflection is coming from. I parked in front of a restaurant once and sat where I could see my car. The reflection off of my windshield was coming in through the windows of the restaurant from my car in the parking lot and it was similar to what you are saying. Nothing you can do but good to know the cause.
