Does anyone here know which warranty to go with and the approximate cost? I am ready to pull the trigger on a 13 M56s with 33K miles but the original warranty expires in August and this is not a CPO car so I am al little nervous owning it long term without warranty.

If warranty is super pricey, I will have to go with a 14 Q70sx 5.6 that costs 10K more but has only 16K miles, 2 more years on the original warranty and is CPOd...

Any ideas?

Go with the Infiniti Elite. You don't have to buy it when you buy the car...you can even buy it in August (or after). At 33kmi, it'll likely cost you $1,800 or so if I had to guess...but worth it. I got my car with 44kmi and it cost me like $2,200 from my dealer (didn't shop around cause I was trying to get it included in the car payment).

Basically...the higher the mileage, the higher the price.

Thanks, how long is your warranty for and is there a deductible?

I have a $100 deductible but you can customize that to be none or $500...just like insurance. Mine went from 42kmi to 88kmi I believe. Yours will vary.

I believe current deductibles offered on the Elite plan are $50 or $100.

The pricing is structured to jump every 10K miles. So for you it would make sense to buy when you're nearing 40k miles, since at 33k you will still pay the same price but if you wait you'd get extra 7k miles of coverage. It is best to buy right before the 10k mile mark (the earliest the better). So for you right now and up to 40k mile mark on your odometer the available plans would be:
24 mo/24k miles
36 mo/36k miles
36 mo/48k miles
48 mo/48k miles
48 mo/60k miles
60 mo/60k miles
60 mo/70k miles
72 mo/82k miles

As an example if you bought today the most expensive plan 72/82, you'd be covered till may 2022 or 115k miles whichever is sooner.

If you wait and buy just before you have 40k miles, then you'd be covered until 122k (that's the advantage of waiting). The disadvantage is the price increase that happens across the whole plan annually usually in the spring.

my previous post was a response to the person with 33k miles on the odo FYI.

The availability of plans decreases as the mileage increases. At 58k miles you could choose from:
12mo/12k miles
24mo/24k
36mo/36k
36mo/48k
48mo/48k
48mo/60k
60mo/60k

definitely get it before you cross 60k miles as the price will be going up and the 60k miles plans go away also.

I'm almost positive the only time you can have a $0 deductible is when you purchase the warranty when the car is brand new. I could be wrong though. The most common I see is $100. Typically, with how expensive stuff is on these cars now, a warranty can pay for itself in the first visit.

Ahh, you may have a point there. I don't remember if they gave me an option of $0.

And yes, I agree.

Not true, I bought my '14 as a CPO and was able to purchase the $0 deductible extended warranty.

Thanks for the advice...
Please help me choose quickly between these two:
-Platinum graphite 2013 M56s w/33K miles and original warranty running out in August for $33,000 + I would install the aero package on it so that would cost me 2K more at least + an extended warranty for 2K probably, so the 2013 will really cost me 37K.

-Black CPO 2014 Q70xs with the aero package with 16K miles and 2 more years on original warranty for $45,000, which one would you guys go for? I already started the process on the 13 and it passed inspection but am having second thoughts... Plan on keeping car for 5+ years....

You are already almost paying as much for a car that is 1 year older, if you are planning on keeping the car for some time I would personally go with the newer model with less miles.

Agreed with the above...go with the newer one if you can handle the increased cost.

is the 2014 Q70xs the 5.6 liter V8? plus, keep in mind that it is also the all-wheel drive version vs RWD 2013.

The 2014 Q70 looks cosmetically like the 2013 M, right? I'm pretty sure that it wasn't until 2015 that the new front and rear changed appearance.

What are the reliability stats with the 2014 vs 2013? Models may be too new to have enough data...

Yes it is the V8 5.6. it does have the all wheel drive that the 13 does not. It also has the aero package that the 13 doesn't...

As far as reliability they are the same car, same engines, transmissions, electronics, just different body styles. I would say Infiniti for the most part are very reliable cars.

I got the Infiniti Elite, as Ilya suggested, directly from Infiniti dealership in Vegas. 2012 M56, had about 19k miles on it, and purchased just before the original warranty timed out at end of 2015.
I got $0 deductible no problem. Also, I got about a 25% discount on warranty price from Infiniti because I was a Sam's Club member... best $40 membership I ever bought! :dblthumb:

Nice! How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I'm guessing like $1,500 or so? Not bad sir, not bad.

Yeah, it was $1800 for the 60mo/60,000 mile Elite Plan with $0 deductible, and all the perks that come with it. I'm happy with the purchase for sure, and the aftermarket warranty is a no brainer for me, because aside from changing out interior/exterior lights, I'm all thumbs. Ha :chuckle:

Hey all I am looking at purchasing a used 2011 M56s with 66k miles on it. Can I buy this warranty to cover this car? It doesn't have any of the factory warranty remaining.

That seems higher than the Infiniti extended warranty.
