Hi All,
Greetings from Canada. I am new to the forum and just bought a good condition 2008 M45X. All is well and I am very happy so far. The car had front passenger side tire pressure showing up as ** on the screen, plus the tire pressure check light. I checked the tire pressure and all tires had about 35 psi. So I took the car to the local Nissan dealer and they changed the sensor (parts and labor and taxes about CAD$212). They told me that code scan came up with sensor bad and all else was good. After driving about 15 minutes, I found that I have the check light back on and the screen again shows front passenger tire pressure to be **. I took it back to the dealer and they told me that it is because of bad main battery and showed me a test result which tells that battery capacity is low and it does not meet the industry standard. Assuming the battery is about 4 and half year old ( I have not seen it as it requires removing three or four plastic covers in the hood), and I never noticed any start up or ignition issues, I am puzzled as to how is the battery state affect one of the sensor to display incorrect readings ( that may also imply that sensor may not have been bad in he first place, which they replaced).
Please advise. I need to take the car back to dealer on Wednesday for replacing battery (if this is old battery, I will like to get it replaced anyway ahead of winter). The price quoted was approximate $160 (parts department was closed by then late afternoon saturday, so service adviser just estimated the price) and half hour of labor.
Thanks so much and God bless you all.
