I recently bought a Q70. I find that my M45 is mainly sitting. I love the M45 and hate to sell it but I have too many cars. I'm going to put the M45 up for sale and wondering what the M owners thought this car is worth. You all know this car. The only option it does not have is Nav. It is in outstanding condition as in almost new condition. It has less than 40,000 miles on it. Everything works perfectly except for the TPMS. I take care of my cars and this one I took exceptional care of.
It's silver with black interior. Their literally is not one flaw in the body or interior. The tires are low mileage Conti DWS.

There is not much more I can say except it looks and drives as good as it did the day I bought it brand new from my Infiniti dealer. What do you think is a good price? In my opinion the blue book and the black and yellow ones do not do this car justice with their prices.

You and all of us here know exactly what a valuable car you have. The blue book for "excellent" condition (they claim only 3% of cars qualify but you are definitely in that 3%) is $6800. That's using my zip code because, well, I don't know yours. The trade-in to dealer value is about $5,000.
I see two possibilities:
1) sell to another M45 lover at a starting price of $7500 and try to get as close to that as possible
2) sell to someone else for about $6000.
You already know that we never get what we think our cars are worth, but if you sell to an M45 lover, you should do well.
First place to advert this is in the classified section here and on any other infiniti forum you can find. Also, include pics if possible because the 2004 is a beautiful, timeless body style.

Thanks. I agree. I need to market to an M45 lover who understands what this car is all about. As soon as we get a clear day in CT I am going to take a ton of pictures. The first place I am going to put an ad in is this site. I'll try Ebay, maybe I can get lucky there. Ebay buyers are usually looking for a deal and generally go by the book's value if past experience with them holds true. But you never know. Good ideas Larz, thanks again.

Yes, indeed!

I'd be tempted to get this one too! :yesnod

But, far more likely, I will be going for a Q70L sometime in the future. I like the extra space in the back in that model, and, at my age, the handling and performance is not as big a deal anymore. :(

Harte right off the show room floor. I beat the snot out of the sales guy and the money man. Made my finally offer and they rejected it so I walked. The sales person came to my house within an hour with a counter offer I could not refuse. I never had that happen and was surprised big time. Don't know how they did it as my offer was low, low. I got wind that they played around with declaring it a leased car or something like that. I'm sure they had to make money on it somehow or they would not have sold it. I was on top of my game that day. I'm at the stage where I like it, but I don't love it yet like the M45. It's a lot like the M but with a lot of techno stuff. I haven't tried out half the stuff it has except the top speed. I hit 130mph and it was still pulling before I had to stop around 140mph. That was just awesome, awesome. Stupid too, but I couldn't help myself. The car was just asking for it on a no car long stretch of highway. Long answer to a simple question.

Don't remember. It was a tall, younger, tall black man. Really nice guy. I just don't remember his name or the money guy's. Just wondering, why do you ask?

Times are getting bad. They have to move that inventory. Time to play Let's Make a Deal.

You offered them something they couldn't deliver? What does that mean? You got me confused.

this is at Harte in Hartford. Basically, I told them I want to pay 350/month for the Q70 with premium and tech package. That was about a month ago and I haven't heard back.

Not surprised. What did they want for a down payment and interest rate? Or whoever you are using to finance? Touchy question but how's your credit? I have found over my 62 years of aging if you don't wave some cash in their face, take a test drive so they can copy your license and get your credit rating or kick them really hard in the balls to get their attention they think you're just another shopper looking at pretty cars. Then again you may hit a sales person who made his quota or is two away from quitting and could care less about you. When I went I found out they were offering the sales people some kind of some special incentives. My guys was hungry for some greenbacks. When I told him it was a cash deal he had to go to the bathroom for some reason. Dealers used to like to finance because they held the note. Today a lot of them sell the note at a discount so if they lose some money on the front and back ends they don't like that. They love leases because the residual value at the end of the lease is all in their favor. Finance 101 on cars. If you knew it anyway you will do well on the final exam. Problem I have is you never know their hole card until the financing game is over and you have a new car. But one thing is sure, they got some money out of the pot greater than they bet or they wouldn't have let the game end. It's tricky beating them down to the smallest amount of profit. I'd go back and try the game again. Repeat visits gets bonus points. Too many repeats visits gets you thrown out. I actually had a dealer tell me he would give me more money off if I bought the car because he did not like one guy who looked at it too many times and didn't talk turkey. The only reason I believed him was because I knew him socially outside what was a dealership he partially owned. If it was BS or not I liked the car and got a good price and wish I still had it today. Personally, I like the kick them in the balls method as it wakes them up faster and for longer.
