I liked the verdicts, particularly for the M45: Puts the sports back into sports sedan—with a sledgehammer.

Compare it with the rest of the verdicts on other cars: * Tries to pass for European, and almost makes it. * Still a charming car for those with subtle sensibilities. * Still a driver's car. * A paragon of all-season high-performance luxury. * A good, solid, safe, rewarding car with mainstream attributes. * Almost too subtle for the talking primates who buy cars. * A bit of everything in this artful concoction.

Too bad it'll be a while before I can afford one! I suspect resale on these will remain high for a while.

I hope that the trend that Lexus might be setting with their VDIM system doesn't take hold. Sounds way too safe for me.

We need a copy of that G35 commercial.

It's a slam on BMW, which ends with, "... that's why we have 295 [hp]."

Can somone find that so we can host it up?

Let's have a comparison of all the v8 sport sedans, and let's see if Infiniti can win against the Merc and BMW V8 cars, and still come in 10k cheaper.

I think it can.

I agree.

Granted, it might be a tighter race than the M35 contest...

Haha, I just got my latest C&D. Some guy wrote a letter whining that if the BMW and Mercedes had been V8s as well, they would have won. Well if the BMW and MB were not so horribly expensive, maybe they would have been able to feature the V8s.Perhaps that's a sign to the german manufacturers to get off their high horses and face the reality that they are not godly and need to try to sell real cars at reasonable prices. Funny, I'd wager that if the BMW or MB had one the comparo, the same guy would have written in with praise for the price-limitations and their unmistakable applicability to all comparisons.

Also, I notice that many authors of letters and reviews keep calling it the M class, or M series. Dammit, this is not BMW or Benz (thank god)! It's THE M. Not a class, not a series, not bland, boring, or reminiscent to a library overclassification. It's an M. Stupid nitpick, but I find the "-class" or "-series" makes the name suddenly very boring.

Hey, and speaking of Nissan/Infiniti ads, have you guys seen the new ads for car components? There's one for the VQ (got it hanging up in the office) and one for the Murano CVT...probably more. Interesting ad campaign.

Infiniti has always had ads I considered very boring, but there's an M commercial that's of Lexus style (I hate Lexus, but I love their ads--especially the new GS430 ad) and really makes you wish the M was outside in the driveway right now so you could hop in and just drive.

The new television ads for the M are indeed very good! I think you can see a few of them on the Infiniti web site.
