Peronsally....Even though I now have a Jag I would much rather "sit in a lawn chair" and look at an M45 than an XJR. XJR's still have practically the same body style as jags that are 20 years old!

Nothing wrong with an XK8 for looks.

Are you sure the 1997 XK8 has the updated guide design?

Ok somebody HAS to reply to JohnG in that thread. He's the one that says he wants a 1st-gen Q real bad. He looks like a potential NICO member and definite Q owner in the making.

Nick :)

I cannot fault Jaguar's incredible styling inside and out. So much class, finesse, and grace. But the G50 fits like an Armani suit. :)

both the Jags & Infiniti's are great in their different prospectives for different tastes....

I did not think that any of them were bashing Infiniti (maybe styling, but that is more personal tastes which I can accept) and just thought it was an interesting post comparing the two different cars from a board outside of NICO

Also the knowledge that some had of the active suspension and HICAS impressed me as well......

There is thread somewhere on this board concerning my impression of the XJR versus my J. I had a XJR for a week last fall trying to figure out if I wanted to trade it in for my J. My buddy who is a used car dealer had the vehicle. I loved the torqueness of the XJR, the wider power band and the knowledge that I could smoke most cars on the road with its near 400hp supercharged engine. What I didn't like was its unclear reliability record, gas mileage on premium petrol and the fact everything looks like its been shoe horned in under the hood. I Decided to keep the J.

I think the XK8 would be gorgeous with a Chrysler-style honeycomb grille -- perhaps not Chrysler sized but at least with the honeycomb look.

Otherwise yeah, it looks like a catfish. Sometimes I feel like throwing out a hook at the Jag dealer, reeling one in, and tossing it in a deep fryer!

If it were that easy! I'd toss mine back in the river and get a new one! Since the chain tensioners i just got fixed 500 miles ago are making noise again like they wanna blow up! haha
