Pleasen help Infiniti owners. I am an ex BMW 330i owner looking to get an Infiniti. My choice is an m45. But there are several cars I am interested in and I need the advice from the owners......

Lets startbwith 2cars:
1. 2008 m45x, 18k miles, advanced tech package, northern car, independent (small) used car dealership. $33000
2. 2008 m45, 32k miles, NO advanced tech package, 30k mile service performed. Florida car, reputable dealership (Nalley Infiniti). $30500

I am so torn, and don't know much about the differences, and have been looking s lot online. The kickers to me is...... Are the following worth anything, x instead of rwd, advanced tech package, 18k miles vs 32k miles WITH 30k miles device done by dealership.

Please help :)

The X is a northern car-the non X a southern machine; for obvious reasons. :gotme

That isnt even really a debate, the M45x has lower miles AND the advanced tech package and is only a couple thousand more.

I'd go option 1. Best of both worlds. AWD will kill your MPG a little bit (1mpg or so) from what I can tell but it's a very nice thing to have sometimes. I don't know where you live, but up here in Upstate NY...the Infiniti Attessa AWD system is a great thing.

I wouldn't really look at milage...32k on a modern car is like 60k for a car in the early 2000's. These cars are designed to run WELL past 100k now.

I'd go with option 1.

Thanks for the responses. Are there any quality issues with the AWD that I should be aware of?

Didn't say where you are in the country but AWD is good anywhere....(IMO)
Option 1. Lower miles, adv tech (big +), considering ext. warranty (lower miles, lower price)! Just dont buy the ones the dealer sell.... Good luck! You'll love the mad torque of the 45!!

I love my AWD. No issues.

And the warranty mentioned above is the Elite Warranty. Highly recommended to purchase from Daniella in NJ or Courtney in Arizona.

I dont think there are any issues with the AWD. Of course you always get a bad car here and there, every maker has that its just life. But overall the AWD is really reliable and works well.

The one drawback of the AWD system is you cannot run staggered wheels, all wheels need to be the same rolling diameter. If the wheels are different by even a little bit it can cause expensive stuff to break. This is partly how the AWD system is designed, but is also because both the front and rear wheels are connected to their own differentials and it is not good for different parts of the drive train on an AWD car to normally (all the time during driving) be spinning at different speeds. So just keep your rims the same size all the way around, and keep your tires the same size. You can go bigger in size if you want aftermarket rims, thats fine. You just cant have one size on the front and another on the back.

where are you from? do you need AWD if not go with the RWD. THen again, for 30k+ it's a tough choice for me to buy the M45.

Are you in ATL? You said Nalley Infiniti. If so, what is the name of the small independent dealer where the X is? There have been LOTS of issues with small dealers buying non reported damaged cars at auction and selling them in the ATL area.

If your in ATL, I would go with the one from Nalley. I would be REAL careful with buying the one from the small independent dealership, and if you do decide to go with them, CHECK IT OUT over and over.

Yes I am in Atlanta. The 45x is from Import Auto Brokers. They seem reputable, just small. They have an A+ rating with the BBB. I also am having the car checked out at an independent dealer prior to purchase. I hope you haven't heard anything bad about these guys.

All that said, and honestly based a lot on some of the responses on this thread (THANKS EVERYONE BTW) I think I am going to go with the 45x with Advanced Tech and 17k miles.

Pretty excited as I am sure you can imagine.

Thanks!

Yeah I know of them. Indian guys, yeah? I looked at a M35 they had when I was shopping, and ran quick lol. I just wasnt feeling the place, but thats just me.

If I was buying, I would go with option 2. Just something about the peace of mind of buying from someone like Nalley. Plus im sure the car has the CPO untill 100,000 mi. Know that the dealership isnt going to buy any bs. I ended up getting my M35 with 48,000 from Infiniti of South Atlanta, more miles than I wanted, but man the dealership really does buy primo, IMO.

In the end, its whatever you feel is right!

Bought it, LOVE IT! It's a beast!

So what is the opinion on extended warranties? There is 3 months left on the factory bumper to bumper warranty, and several years on the power train warranty left.

So you went with the X right?? And the warranty is basically an extension of your bumper to bumper warranty... It's the one that is recognized by infiniti nationwide and covers just about everything! The elite warranty!
:dblthumb: and now.... Enjoy!! Be ready to have a frequent relationship with the gas pump,
lol :lolling: I personally do not mind it but some of the guys on here really freak out over it...

Buy the Elite Warranty from Scottsdale Infiniti, talk to Courtney. She has the best prices on the warranty. You will want the warranty because it can pay for itself if just 1 or 2 things go wrong. If nothing goes wrong then its not like you really wasted money, that just means you have a great car. I was incredibly rough on my car, and used the warranty 3 or 4 times. It more than paid for itself (broken axle, multiple blow valve cover gaskets)
