Seems like you M45 guys are only getting 2 MPG less city/hwy compared to the M35

Hmmm the power might be worth the 2MPG. lol

The only M35 reply was the M35x, which has lower MPG due to all wheel drive. I believe the standard M35 does a bit better.

I agree....This is why I picked the M45 over the M35x....I chose power over handling

19 in city and mid to upper 20s on hwy.Somewhat of a conservative driver. I enjoy the M45 too much to rush.

a common misconception is that AWD makes the car handle better...not true. only provides traction in bad weather.....unless the awd is tuned like the new acura or audi's then it may handle better...

That's pretty bad gas mileage, wonder if it's due to the type of city driving we see (with the traffic and horrible roads)

Tire pressure has alot to do with MGP. You also may want to have all windows rolled up when traveling more than 35mph.

I average about 15 to 16 mpg in my 2003 M45 ... about 50% to 60% city driving now. When I was doing more highway driving (different work location) so about 35% city driving, I got closer to 16 to 17 mpg every month.

Driving my M45 sport in the city (with occasional hard launches), I average about 16.2 mpg. I had an M35 loaner for a week, and I think I averaged about 18-19 mpg under same conditions. Both were 2006 my. I concluded that gas mileage was definitely no reason to pick the V6.

I also determined that the sport package suspension/tires/rear steering is so much better than the base m35 package. Even with less power, I couldn't take a fast turn without kicking out the rear wheels in the M35. I fly through the same turns in my m45 sport without so much as a squeak.

After 9 months of owning this thing, I'm still gettng a steady 22.3 mpg with mostly highway driving 24 miles each way to work. The worst I've done is 21.7 when the trips were more city.

On long road trips I can get close to 24 or slightly above each time.

In either situaton, I'm steady at 80mph with a couple of WOT runs just under 100.

Not too bad...

I reset the mileage average every 2 tanks of fuel or roughly 820 miles and it often gets to the low fuel level light before I refill.

I think I have one of the better averages on this board because of the ideal commute so don't think mine is the standard.

Mobil one Synthetic 5-30 has been used up to this point every 3000 but after seeing a slight blue puff upon each start up, I've changed back to conventional to see if there's any diff.

My '06 M45 Sport averages between 15 - 17mpg city and 21- 22mpg highway. My daily commute is only 4 miles each way with lots of stop and go traffic. As far as the highway goes, I usually cruise at 80 mph and get consistent 22mpg over a good 3 hr trip. Yeah its not the best mpg for either but I didn't purchase the M based on any of that. I love my M!

I'm getting 16 - 18 mpg in my 2006 M35 Sport. It is ALL city, very heavy stop and go driving. I'm getting about 17 - 19 in my 2003 G35 Coupe (Same engine) same conditions.
