After reading the post about getting a good deal on an M45, my curiosity was peaked. So I did a little research and read some reviews about the M45. Very positive reviews by the current owners. The closest camparable car seems to be the Lexus GS430. The stats say that the Lexus is slightly faster than the M45. It also lists a bit cheaper. So I just started wondering if I were in the market for such a car, why would I buy the infiniti? Don't get me wrong I love Infiniti's, but with the reputation and resale value of the Lexus I think it would be difficult to buy the infiniti comparing the two cars. My guess is that in 4 to 5 years the Lexus is worth $10,000 more than the Infiniti. Does the Infiniti drive and handle better? I would like to hear your best arguments for the M45.

Too many people rely on OTHER people's opinions to make their purchase decisions. The media has proven time and again that it doesn't know what you and I really want in a car.

If I went based on what the media said, I'd own a Honda Accord. But wait, I got rid of mine and bought a Q45.

Lexus is the car for sheep.

The GS 430 is not cheaper than the M45.

Even w/ less equipment it's base price is more.The warranty on the Infinti is actually 10,000 miles longer (I migth be wrong tho so I am willling to be educated).

And while Lexus has a decent resale value the GS is a bit or a rarer model so has a limited market as well.

In a 40,000 car no way the difference in resale value will be a quarter of the full <new> car price.

And while <some> dont like the looks of the M45, love 'em inside and out, while I feel the GS look is getting a bit long in the tooth (and kinda common too).

Also:The best numebr 0-60 I seen for an M45 in a magazine test was 5.7 seconds.The best number i seen for the GS400 was 6.2 and 6.0 for the 430.

Assuming that tyhe best number are comparable in elevation and temps.

The worst I seen for the M45 was 6.2 and the worst i seen listed for the GS was 6.7 (this was the 4.0L in a test where all cars where abit slower due ti higehr temps)
