What do I think of the M45? I think my 2006 M45 is awesome!
I appreciate fine paintings, melodic musical compositions, craftsmanship in pistols and overall style and performance in automobiles. It is the excellence of what I perceive to be a masterpiece that excites and evokes in me a sense of admiration and awe. I place the 2006 M45 in this category. IMO, it is an exquisite automobile in every sense of the word.
My passion in cars began when I was a youngster in the late 1930’s. Then I drove box shaped cars with mechanical breaks and stick shifts. It was possible then to tinker using only modest tools and a roll of good strong tape to improve the drivability and performance of a roadster, coupe or sedans of that day.
In high school during the early days of WWII, we used to cut-down our pre-war cars, soup them up and street-race for pink slips. Our top speeds were nothing like they are today but we used to fly down our neighborhoods sounding like worn-out trucks.
After the war when production of post-war cars began, the technology changed and the joy of our making over an old jalopy came to an end.
Since then, I have owned just about ever make of American car. I have also owned numerous models of European and Japanese cars. Most were modestly priced. However, the German ones cost as much as what I had previously paid for a new house. During this last decade, I have owned five Japanese cars. Each had been better than any other car I had ever owned.
My 2006 M45 tops the list. It is absolutely the finest car I have ever owned. It surpasses every one of my previous cars in style, comfort, technology and performance.
For the first time in my life, I no longer look forward to buying another car.
