Hi Everyone!

So about a month ago I had a no start issue that ended up being the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor. It ran fine for a few weeks then the Camshaft Sensors went out. That made sense because on my G35 all 3 went out about the same time. That lasted about 3 weeks, and now well it failed to start on me right after I was driving it for about 40 mins. WHY!!!!!!! So I scanned it and it said possible options. It was the same code P0340 with I replaced all 3 sensors already, it says just the left bank. Bank 1. The option that I haven't tried yet that it is suggestion is replace the harness w/P1800. Is this hard to do? Has anyone else had this much trouble with their M45? Oh yea my M45 is a 2006. Any help would be great thank you very much and have a wonderful day!!!!!!

Sincerely

Still broke down,

I think you're in the right neighborhood with the harness...if the sensor is new the next thing to check is wiring. Can you try testing it with a meter, etc.?

Also, see if there is anything in this thread that can help you:

Hello WildChicken, I remembered your old thread
m45-crankshaft-position-sensor-t615709.html#p6743642

Then this from your current topic jumps at me:
It was the same code P0340 with I replaced all 3 sensors already, it says just the left bank
Which 3 sensors did you replace, do you have the part numbers?
Or can you locate them from that picture linked?

Hey, I am glad you remember the post. Your Picture and info was the best. I have both part numbers here. for the crankshaft sensor it was 23731-2Y52A...... What the heck on the receipt it says same sensor for all 3? Both Camshafts and the Crankshaft. Is this right? Also I looked at the picture and it was the 2 sensors in the #1 spots that I changed. Thanks for the prompt responses folks! I really want to get her back on the road and purring.

Broke down, but hopeful

Looking back and reading your post as well as someone else. Looks like I replaces the wrong ones, but the other person said it was good to replace those too because they run hand in hand. If I am reading this right the ones with the green plugs are the actual camshaft positioning sensors. If this is right I could just kick myself in the crotch a few times cause I like that as much as wasting my money, but at least I would have figured out why she is still spitting this code back at me. So the camshaft positioning sensors are the ones that are labeled #3. If so does that mean there is no camshaft positioning sensor for the left bank?

If you get a chance, watch the video. It really clarifies what might be hard to relay by text.

Jump to minute 6:45 to see why those sensors should be different.

Okay, So after watching the video. The one with the Green plug is the correct camshaft sensor. Yes I am a Noob. Sorry for all the trouble. I am still learning this car. Looks like the only difference between the sensors is the way it is mounted and the angle of the wires. I will run to Infiniti tomorrow morning after pulling the old one an bringing it down with me. Just a quick question normally do these cars have a lot of problems after 140K? Thank you everyone for your patience with me.

Weird, I just went out side to pull the sensor. Mine is not green like that, though it is in the same location. EdBwoy can you email me at [email protected] so I can send you a pic of what it looks like? I have a CAI on the car so there is plenty of room for me to view and work on it. Thanks.

Okay, well I have no time to work on it before I go to work. The dealer is quite far away and won't be able to get the sensor till tomorrow anyway. I will let you guys know how it goes after I am finished. But Thank you all for your help, everyone here has been so nice and helpful. I hope I can help some of you out in the future. Have a wonderful day!!!
