without starting the debate of to use spacers or not, I'm gonna do it. Posession is 9/10th of the law and I have the 19" M45 sport rims in the garage so I'm ordering the stock 245/40 19 size tires for them. I know someone on the board did this, I tried search but the results were not conclusive. Can you chime in, the guy was in New York...as I recall. I'm thinking 25mm will do the trick, anybody out there have any words of wisdeom (and no comments about spacers, my research shows there is no big deal in using these).

thanks in advance, the last piece of operation turn my Y33 into a major handling car is under way.....Tein's and SR Specials already in place!

Yeah, it was in an old post. He had to roll his fenders.

Be sure to use the OEM spacers.

I bet the new 2006 F50 Sport wheels wouldn't require spacers. So few will be take-offs, though.

Funny I did a search and the search came back in black, could hardly read it. I specifically recall that he didn't have to roll the fenders in the stock size of the tire, I know Falk had to do his but he's got 275's back there, I would think 245 will fit just fine.

I have the damn things sitting in the garage, I did try to sell the wheels but everyone either a) wanted them for damn near nothing or b) never followed through. I know the guy in NY had no rubbing and no fender roll with spacers in 245.

I feel the need to add this .zerothread?id=190445

Also, I think someone might be thinking of the guy that put FX45 20" wheels on his Q/Y33.

I do not recall anyone ever opsting pics of M45 Sprt 19" wheels on any Q, except for the ones photochopped pic in the link I've referenced above.

No, a guy did it. I think I might try 245/35 instead as an extra help, but I e-mailed the member that did it, haven't heard from him lately. My mechanic looked at it and said he could make it work. I'm thinking it might take 30 mm spacers, as soon as I get the offset specifically on them M45 rims than i will be able to do the calcuation (with Kevin Faulks help).

I wish now I'd bought the FX45 rims as they would just fit, but these are much better looking and I know they will work, just gotta get it right.

I have 18X8 G35 coupe wheels which have a 30mm offset with 245/55/18 tires and they fit fine (97 Q45). Seems like the offset of the wheels is the big variable. Any idea on what it is??

I just read that wheel spacers give you cancer.

My research shows the 19" M45 Sport wheels are19 x 8.5 50mm offsetYour G35 Coupe wheels are18 x 8.0 The net difference would be ~26 mm less inner clearance, and the outer edge would be retracted ~14mm .

Hope that helps .

50 freakin mm!! Whoa. I'm gonna say you should get 30 mm spacers then. 25 mm at the minimum.

I would like to see how that looks.

Asking $900 for the wheels only, I'm re-using the tires.

agreed. you need much less offset for a flush fit on a Y33 than G50!

Also agreed, my rear wheels fit with no worries but the fronts are very close, only a couple of mm between tire and strut, 25mm would be very close, 30 mm would be ideal.

I know I have found that 50mm is really off, but with 1" spacers looks like people have got it to work. I wouldn't have probably bought them if I knew it was going to be such a controversy but I have them, anyone other than the spacer cancer group think this will not work with 30MM?

Buy quality, hub-centric, bolt on spacers. Hopefully from a shop that will allow yout o test fit with a couple different sizes to get the exact backspacing/offset you want. Expect to pay >$125 per axle and check them for tightness periodically.

I'd still look at putting them on my Q, but 19" tires are too $$$ in comparison to all other tires .

Racing Engineering wrote: IMPORTANT USAGE NOTES

Wheel bolts used with spacers installed and removed frequently should be considered consumables (like brake pads and rotors) and should be replaced on a regular basis, based on use. Repeated installation and removal can cause wheel bolts to stretch and ultimately break. Torque on bolts should be checked on a regular basis. Replacement wheel bolts are available for purchase.

The hub surface upon which the wheel spacer will be mounted should be adequately prepared before installation. This means all surface corrosion should be cleaned with a wire brush or steel wool to ensure a clean surface. A thin film of grease or anti-seize compound on the face of the wheel hub will aid in the future removal of the spacer. The spacer should slide over the hub without being forced. Using a hammer, mallet or other "tools of persuasion" on the wheel spacer for installation is not recommended and immediately voids any product warranty.

A good idea! You may end up needing different sized spacers front and back to make it work out - with the right fit and look.

If they are 19x8, and you are using 245/35-19 tires, 25mm spacers should put you right in the ball park. 30mm might well work.

Be sure, if you are committed, to having the tires mounted when you go to the shop for fitment, as they all vary from specified size. Get the tires with the highest load rating possible, preferably an XL version.

Okay boys and well boys, I have ordered some 1" spacers, which puts me in between the 25 and 30mm. This appears to be the proven number that works, and I just got a smoking deal on some Bridgestone 050 WR rater 245/35 19" rims for $150 on close out, link to tires....

I will post up some pics in a few weeks when this all comes together!!!
