Hey!

So, I have the setting activated which brings the steering wheel all the way up and in and puts the seat all the way back, when you turn the car off. The problem I am having with it is that when I get back in the car to leave, it is supposed to go back to the original position. It only does it successfully 2/10 times. The other 8/10, they either do nothing, or come about 25% of the way they're supposed to. Incredibly annoying. I've tried turning it off too, but it won't deactivate.

Also, the side mirrors tilt down when in reverse. Which, is actually really cool. Is it supposed to move both down? or just 1? Because it randomly switches Left to Right for no particular reason. It's been on the right for the last couple weeks, which is exciting when that happens.... Because that's how I prefer it. I am going to back into my garage one day and find that it moved back to the driver side!

Anyhow - Does have any insight into this??

I've noticed the mirrors tilt down based on the direction the wheel is turned when putting it into reverse.

I have the same issue with the telescoping steering wheel every once in a while, but not nearly as frequently as you have.

had this issue off and on. Finally was tracked down to a sensor in the steering wheel. No more probs.

I had this same issue on my old 2007 and dealer had to replace the memory module if I recall correctly. Expensive fix, but I had warranty. Before that mine never worked, after that it always did until I traded the car in years later.

Hey guys, I have a 2004 M45. When you place the car in reverse the side in which the mirror tilts down depends on the manual mirror adjustment selector or your dash (left side of steering wheel right next to your dimmer setting). So if you have your left mirror selected when you put the car in reverse, the left mirror automatically adjusts down - as does the the right mirror if you have the switch set to the right position. If you have it set in the middle - neither mirror will move when you put the car in reverse.

The problem I'm still having is with the intermediate function of the up-down adjustment of the steering wheel. Sometimes I get in the car and the function works perfectly, other times I get in the car and the steering wheel is stuck in the up-most position and won't automatically adjust down when I put the key in - as well, it won't adjust when I try to use the joystick. I can hear the motor clicking but the steering wheel won't move. After 10 minutes or so of driving it may start working again. Anybody else having this problem? Is my motor going bad or what?

Thanks

FrontIttoMe's description of how the 04 M45 mirrors work is the same as the manual's description of how the 06 M45 mirrors work (this should not have changed for 07).

Regarding the other issues, I don't have time to search the forum for you guys, but SteveTheTech posted a fairly detailed explanation about how all of those movements happen in a specific order and as soon as any one of them throws an error, the rest of them either stop or are cancelled (don't even start). The post was either in a thread similar to this one or a thread complaining about the mirrors clicking when going down in reverse.
