I was/am seriously thinking of trading to Mercedes for a quiet ride. I drove a 2002 E430 today, while it is quiet and smooth I like the M45 drive and smooth power better. The squeaks and rattle come from the dashboard; the navigation screen seems loose, also squeaks come from glove box, arm rest and from underside. This doesn't seem right for a car of this caliber. At higher speeds or on smooth roads I don't notice. Anyone else with this experience or suggestions beside complaining to Infiniti? Thanks -Long Beach, CA
Hello,Jonny, I had the exact same problem you describe, exactly where you describe in regards to around the nav screen. I came real close to trading it in because my local dealer was unfortunately unhelpful and it was obnoxious. I ended up driving to Lokey Infiniti(Clearwater, Fl) 50 miles away where they nailed it. The ride on our cars is certainly on the firm side. Tires can add ride quality. Also, how many miles are on your M? Around 60,000 miles, shocks are in order. This can add to the ride quality as well. As long as you are under warranty, you should be able to get the rattle around the nav fixed, gratis. Be careful, some dealers try to charge you for it under the guise of adjustments which are only covered the first 12mo/12,000 miles of the original warranty. My local dealer tried to assess me this as well. These cars are always going to ride somewhat firm. Some roads really exacerbate this. Going for more of a touring tire really might help. Also, experiment with your tire pressure within specifications.Good Luck,M.L
