WOW!!!

Nothing like the spy photos or the pre-production model I saw.... That thing is beautiful! Very classically styled, some remnants of the early Q's in the lines.

Maybe that's gonna be the replacement for Quella when she tires of me...

Looks better than the one I saw at the NY Auto show at Jacob Javitz. The M might start up a new cult. But if it has the same engine as the Q but is cheaper, where will that leave the Q in future years?:( I'm taking a vote. If you had the money based on looks only would you go Q or M? I'm torn so you guys first!:help

It's funny you mention that. I just read a article from the vp's at Infiniti saying that the M45 is planned to boost Q sales.

I think you all know my decision.

Here was a reply from the guy who took these pictures:

"Hey guys. I snapped up some photos of the M45 shown at MV Infiniti. First of all, i'd like to say tat the car does, indeed, look better in person and the front looks pretty good from certain angles. I was surprised to find a lot of ppl there express interest in buying the car. I heard a family interested in buying it over a Mercedes E-class. So it's nice to see some positive feedback. Altho, IMO, Infiniti should've came out with a much BETTER looking car if it wants to compete with the BMW5/LexusGS segment.

What was surprising is how SMALL the trunk is. The rear overhangs are long so id expect the trunk to be big, but tat's not the case. The seats are very comfortable, but the middle rear seat is impossible to sit into so it's basically a 4-seater sedan. The rear is a bit cramped which is odd. I find the G35's rear more spacious.

The doors open up at 90 degrees and the absense of a B-pillar makes the car cleaner. THe door doesn't have that quality "thunk" sound u get when u close the door compared to the Q but otherwise, build quality seemed excellent. "

The quality thunk is about $11.20 more sound deading in each door. Easy to fix on even a 90Q but the material will cost you $30-$50-$150.http://www.carstereoworld.com/....html

Lux cars may have up to 90 pounds more sound proofing [12 pounds in 4 door doors alone].Ever wonder why the new BMW 745 is 330 pounds over weight with a lighter engine, tranny, aluminum suspension....the leather can't be that heavy!

even more interesting, because i thought the M actually weighed a few pounds more then the Q. that got my hopes down. i was hoping that the M would come out with the same motor with a lighter body thus just plain faster.if i had the money though, i would definately buy the Q.

with a subwoofer that has almost 30 feet of chamber useing unibody channels and such probably doesnt help either , or that damned computer system that only bill gates can get the car in "drive". for some reason a car that requires me to stand on my head and do some naughty things just to back out of my drive way just doesnt appeal to me ,Give me the Q45 , M45 just doesnt seem as fresh of a design , still very pretty tho .

i might just do the dynamat , ill take a $150 hit and a 20+ lb penalty for more quietness

Actually the absense of a D-pillar should be what is stated here. The B-Pillar is the roof support between the front and rear doors. The C-pillar is the aft-most roof support in a vehicle with only 3 pairs of roof supports. The aft-most roof support is referred to as the D-Pillar on vehicle with four side pillars.

Not meaning to be nit-picky, but the absense of the B-pillar on a sedan is not the norm: mid-60's Lincoln Continental (suicide-doors).

The weight difference between the two Infinitis is either 82 pounds or 119 pounds, depending on how you measure it, according to Infiniti. The savings is reached thanks to the M’s three inches less length overall, which manages to take an almost five-inch bite out of rear-seat legroom in the M45.

When I sat in the M45 at the Atlanta Auto Show, the rear legroom seemed to be about the same as the Q. The M45 seats are more "shapely", front and back. You sit IN the seat, not ON the seat. Better side bolsters. I found it much more comfy than the Q.

Only difference was width.

The rear leg room in not the same. The M45 has a lot less. It's possible they had the seats further up t make it appear that there was more. That 5" less rear legroom was published in autoweek.
