Post

Hello all. So I finally got the M45 that I wanted. I posted on here a while back that I was looking for a M45 Sport with black exterior and bourbon interior (which are EXTREMELY rare btw!). After seeing a few internet pics of the bourbon interior, I realized that it wears much faster than the black interior. So the other day my brother (we're both car dealers, but it was his turn to go to the auction that day) came back with a 2007 Infiniti M45 Sport with black exterior, black interior, and woodgrain. I couldn't be happier! The car is pretty much in mint condition!

Anyhow, I have a few questions. I know there are FAQs and Guides everywhere on this forum, but they seem to be for the most part for advanced users/installers...so please don't hate! And THANKS IN ADVANCE!

1. Exhaust question: Is there a somewhat simple and inexpensive way to get a slightly throatier note out of the exhaust (sub $500 total)? Keep in mind eventually I will have to resell this car and I don't want some loud, aftermarket sounding exhaust system on it. My big concern is that IT HAS TO LOOK STOCK! Aftermarket looks devalue the car. So the exhaust tips and/or mufflers would have to stay.

2. Are there any outstanding problems with these cars that I should know about? I know that they have big driver's seat issues (which mine has a slight problem) but besides that, anything else?

3. Front-end lighting question: Do you guys have any recommendations for bulb replacements for high beams, low beams, and fog lights? I'm pretty happy with the low beam color and output, but the high beams look a bit yellowish. I'm not too happy with the looks of the fog lights either. They're kinda in between yellow and white/blue, so I'd rather go for a full yellow look or a full white/blue look.

4. iPod integration question: I've thoroughly read through the PA15-INFI thread. Is this still the iPod interface standard, or is there a newer, better product out there?

5. Subwoofer question: I'm assuming there's a stock subwoofer in this car (haven't had time to fully check it out...lol). Can you replace this subwoofer with a better one to perhaps offer a little better sound? The next question links to this...

6. Speaker/Amp question: If replacing the stock subwoofer is not an option or if replacing it does nothing for the overall sound of the system, can you replace the stock amp with an aftermarket amp and after doing so, will the car's stereo and interface behave completely normal?

7. Feel free to offer any advice whatsoever you have. I'm more than willing to listen!

What I know I'm going to be doing in the next couple of days...if anyone even cares ;)

A. Giving it a full detail. I like detailing myself, so for the most part I'll be doing the whole job...from claybar-ing to shampooing. I'll have my detailers do the tedious bits ;)
B. Putting Mobil 1 in it.
C. Possibly Seafoaming it, based on my mechanic's recommendations.
D. Installing new plugs.
E. Installing a new cabin filter. The car has been smoked in.
F. Putting Nitrogen in all tires.
G. Overall just admiring it...lol

I know this post sounds very n00bish and over-elated, but I really have been looking for one of these through the auctions for 1 year and 4 months now. I wasn't going to spend $20k from another dealer because I just couldn't stomach another dealer making $4k off me...lol

Again, THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME.

1. If you can get your hands on a Megan Axle Back exhaust you will never regret it. I wanted it to look stock and sound better. This is the only exhaust that I found that gives you just that.
