HEY GUYS,

JUST BOUGHT AN M45X A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AND HAD A QUESTION. THE MASTER SWITCH FOR THE WINDOWS SEEMS TO HAVE ONE OF THE SWITCHES LOOSE AND IT KEEPS FALLING OUT. I WANTED TO REPLACE THE MASTER SWITCH BUT I KEEP FINDING 06-07 ONES FOR A GOOD DEAL (AROUND 40) BUT THE ONES FOR 08+ ARE HARD TO FIND AND WHEN I DO FIND THEM, THEY'RE ABOUT 700. WOULD THE 06-07 MASTER SWITCH WORK ON AN 08?

Welcome aboard.

I haven't had to replace the switch, but according to to these top links on this Infiniti parts site, there seems to be some overlap between the 06/07 and also 07/08.

I'd call the dealership to ask what the most current part numbers are.

I agree with Ed, but in all likelihood, it's the same thing.

I have this same problem. I ordered a replacement switch for my 2007 MY M45. Paid $104.00 for it, but I saw several going for insanely height prices. Now to figure out how to swap it out!

MOWells, mind telling us the part number you ordered for your 07 M45?

And just remove the door panel and flip it over, unscrew the switch. I think it might be alluded to in one of them there videos:

25401-EH100 is what is listed in the sale. Thanks for the videos; they should help!

Guys,
I came across this on the homepage. I don't know what they offer, but if these problems are going to be rampant enough with our cars, I'm sure we can get a decent audience with them. Anyone care to contact them?

A YouTube video shows how you can swap the master switch button for the rear passenger (driver’s side) window with the broken switch for the driver’s window. You use a thin screwdriver to lever out the good switch from the back, the button then pops out and you can use the good button to replace the driver’s window button. I’d like to get the button swapped as I can’t get the car inspected with the loose, non-functional button. I was told that Virginia requires that the driver’s side window control switch must be in working order to pass inspection.

I forgot to point out that the video in question was for a Mercedes Benze with a very similar looking master switch to the Infiniti. Not sure if they work the same way, but it’s possible.

I've said it before in a different thread and I've actually personally done that to a car. I really don't see why it wouldn't be possible on the M.

Just to clarify, the toggle is for the right rear window, got it. But is the broken one located at that door or at the master switch at the driver door?

I've done it in the past where I borrowed the toggle from one of the other doors to bring it to the driver door - since I mostly drive solo and want to be able to control the windows from my seat.

So it's possible, and I'd say cheaper... but definitely takes more time than replacing the entire panel on one door.

The broken button is located in the master switch and operates the driver’s window. The YouTube video claimed that the button for the left rear window, itself located in the master switch assembly, could be swapped for the broken one.
