Hi,

I recently installed an Injen high flow air intake on my '06 M45. I made sure to re-connect all the plumbing, including the mass air flow sensor. I was expecting to get slightly improved fuel economy, maybe at least a half MPG better, but I am not getting any better mileage at all. Also, the motor seems to stumble slightly when I'm decelerating from freeway speeds, like 60 to 80. The Injen comes with two ways to install: the short ram or the cold air. I installed the short ram.

Does anyone have any experience with this setup or have any observations?

Thanks,Bruce

All I can suggest is going with the cold air intake and trying that. THe short ram will not improve the air quality going into the motor...rather makes it a little worse.

Yea what Drip said. The ram allows to much hot air from the engine compartment in. More air is good, but if the air is hotter then it is pointless. Needs to be the cold stuff in order to get the HP and MPG gains.

I installed the Injen long-ram intake and although I have not had any stumbling issues you describe, I have also noticed no improvement in MPG.
