My M45 is a 2006 with only 22,000 miles. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly at all times except into 3rd when cold. It seems more pronounced when under a load and when "manually shifting." Anyone seen a service bulletin on this?

It is recommended that you let any car warm up some when it is cold before driving it. When your car is cold the fluids are less viscous and will result in things like harsh shifting which is actually the least of your worries. Risk of wear and tear on your vehicle is also higher when it is cold and I certainly wouldn't be doing things like putting the engine under load before it has had a chance to warm up some.

"SEARCH" is your friend. After much ado, the TSB does not do anything.
