A friend has an M45 and the front seat is stuck as far forward as it can be. She says that the problem developed when it would not go back so now it's stuck fwd.

Any quick ideas I can pass along before she takes it to the dealership? The fuses are good, but thats the only the thing she could check.

Welcome to NICO!

Does the seat try to go back and fail? Or do you hear nothing (no click, no motor noise)? I.e., is it "silent" failure, or is it making some sort of noise at all?

That may lead to discovering whether the seat is jammed on something in the track, or it is a dead fuse, solenoid or motor or something like that ...

These are all SWAGS's, of course!

UPDATE:

The seat does not try to move and makes no noise.

It could just be the seat switch...

Yup. Or a wire that got disconnected/broken/"run over" . Might be worth taking a look under the seat.
