Although it's not a bad car at all, I am not a big fan of the styling of it. Just an Accord on steroids for the most part for me. At least they now make it in AWD instead of just FWD. I don't think I would do it, just my opinion though.

Hello fellow Realtor. Not go off subject..... How are you doing out there with business?

Now back to the subject...

I have mix feelings with the new TL. I love the M though.

I want to know who the hell at Acura thought that a fender flare on the front wheels only was a good idea.

Between that and the smiling front grill,

Stick with the M!

Ignoring the chrome snaggle tooth grille (a great boon for after market grille makers!), why would you want to trade a RWD V8 for a FWD V6?

Acura quality is good but never better than Infiniti, and the driving dynamics are completely different.

I too have mixed feelings about the new TL but the M45 has so much more class and power. It's a good car between your G35 and NSX (so Jealous). If it's a even trade maybe just because of miles.

The TL looks like a Camry.

I guess whatever floats your boat. I was immediately taken by the M, the TL does not give me that same feeling.

great pictures. I have to admit I WAS a huge TL fan, but man that thing is UGLY That grille is awful! Gotta say on looks alone the M. I have never driven a TL to compare performance.

Xerexabante, Are those M45 sport wheels on your Q? If so, how does the offset look on that car? Do you have any issues with them. I would like to update my 03M with some newer 19" sport wheels, but concerened abouit the different offsets.

Looks good!

Okay... I finally had the chance to visit my local Acura dealer to see the car for myself. The interior is nicely put together. Driver seat is perfect for me.

Other than that, the car is UGLY. I could not even bring myself to a test drive.

Thank you. I had a some very minimal rubbing that wah just a hair touching the strut mount(front). I could just made it so the rubbing go away by itsself. But I had some spacers in place the thinnest I could find and no problems at all.

Greetings, took the SHawd TL for a ride and while I was impressed , keep in mind that unlike our M"S it is front biaised awd, not rear like ours. Nice car but it is no M... The RL might be better choice, quick car, about same level of toys, but they wanted more than the M35x that I just bought... Infiniti gives you some nice loyalty discounts... Good luck

Thanks for chiming in. I love the 08 in blk with the chrome accent to the front bumper. It looks similiar to a smaller version of an Audi A8.

Congrats on your purchase. Any pics?

You'll miss the torque. As it's been said already, RWD V8 > FWD V6

yeah -- I've got to chime in. There's an Acura store across the street from my Infiniti dealer. The new TL looks bad in the pics; I walked across the street and it looks REALLY bad in the flesh (metal). Nice to know all those Pontiac Aztek designers finally found work (it apprears they have also been experimenting with illegal mind-altering drugs...).

The interior is nice, but you have to look at that Ugly Betty exterior prior to climbing inside... and what would the neighbors think with this thing parked in the driveway? And women would point and laugh at you at stop lights. And little kids would point and cry! Don't do it.

Don't do it. As a former TL owner (actually 2, a 2003 TL-S and a 2006 6MT Navi) and a current M35X owner, I have to say stay with your Infiniti! I am much happier with this Infiniti than any honda/acura product I ever owned.

That grill is reminiscent of the 6th gen Maxima, just a different shape.

With that said, Honda makes an awesome premium automobile, however you cannot match Nissan's commitment to premium automobiles.

I'm not saying to run out and buy a new Maxima because it's just plain disgusting(I dont like the new Maxima) and they're trying to hard to build a Japanese car in America, but that TL doesn't hold a candle to an M.

Maybe and just maybe a BMW 550i could match what i've got in my M35x. Or maybe i'm just in love for a 2nd time. Sorry wifey ....

Did I mention that the new Maxima is ugly from the back. A woman should look good from the back .... Why shouldn't my car?

Interesting you should broach this topic. Before my M35, I drove an Acura for 12 years. The car was impeccable, totally a dream, with absolutely NO mechanical issues. The only downside I can mention, is having to pay a kings ransom to replace the timing belt and water pump every 90K. When I returned to Acura to get a replacement, they no longer made the RL as a larger car. It was now a rebodied Honda Accord and the TL was/is a rebodied Honda Civic (read small inside)... They offered me a very very nice deal on a new RL, but I really wanted the larger car, not the latest rendition, 30% smaller with all the high tech gadgetry. I looked at both the Lexus GS and the M series cars. The interior of the GS was markedly stark compared to the M, so I chose the M.

Re: the GS. IN MY OPINION, you're exactly right...it is somewhat stark. While some may think that it looks cleaner, the engineers put a bunch of controls concealed in a door to the left of the steering wheel on the dash where you have to take your eyes OFF THE ROAD, look down and push it to open it. Then you have to take your eyes off the road again, lean to the left, adjust your mirrors and the like while you bash your head against the side window.

It was at this point that I turned my test dive car around and went back to the dealership.

I would put this into the "engineering idiocy" category.

Huy,

Didn't you just get your M 2 months ago?
