See other post re: "Hole in Oil Pan".

3" hole in oil pan . Adjuster felt damage to engine would be done after even short duration w/o oil...even if minimal. (eg. burn oil but still run fine) He made the call to replace engine and I did not argue.

Is that unreasonable? Thats the quote dealer provided for engine swap. Looking at how much had to come out seems reasonable to me but you guys would know better....whats reasonable?

Its between the dealer and the insurance company. You don't have to worry anyway luckily.

They have standard parts cost and labor rates that they agree to and work with ... it is all in the parts catalog and tables.

Yes 30 hours is an obscene amount of time to swap an engine, especially considering how new and clean everything is. No rusted/seized bolts on that baby.

As stated, they are just charging more because they know insurance is paying for it.

*EDIT: just realized they took the front suspension apart, that would definitely add some time.

I am pretty sure those icons you see were links that took you to a third party photo sight like photobucket (or similar) where the actual photos were uploaded and stored to. They were not stored on this sight, they were only links to the sight they were on. In any event, the OP either removed the pics from that sight, or the account expired.
