M45 electric seat

Hi all , I have a 2003 M45 and all of a sudden my electric seat won't go forward or back. Everything else works ,tilt , etc. I hear a click and I popped the front cover (along the bottom) off and there's a good sized "black box" and it feels like the click is coming from there. Any ideas??? Unfortunately if the seat needs to be removed ,it's all the way back so I can't get at the rear bolts. Thanks for looking.

I had the same problem with my i30. It is considered a common problem for those cars. We were able to do all functions except fore and aft. I had my wife sit in the seat and activate the button while I sat behind her and pushed the seat forward. It was enough to get it going. Has worked fine ever since. Seems there may be a dead spot in the motor for that action.
