I always look for the best batteries I can find. The Sears Die Hard Platinum is by far the best; but also the most expensive; about $210.00 installed. Sears has this contraption whereby when they remove your battery your auto is still plugged into 12 volts so your don't lose all your settings. Kool.

You can probably get the same 12 volt contraption @ other dealers, but I've always gone w/Sears batteries w/out any problems. The OEM battery lasted about 3 years.

I've always heard that Optima Red-top is the best (and most expensive), however, as antzrus stated, I have always had excellent luck with the Sears Gold or platinum line. Excellent battery for probably the life that you will own the car.

If you are having slow starts, definitely change it out as soon as you can. The battery and tires are probably the most overlooked, yet important preventative maintenance you can do besides regular oil/filter changes.

Good luck, and keep us posted!!!

I just replaced mine with the DuraLast Gold from Autozone. It has more cold cranking amps then the OEM and was only ~$80 after I treded in my battery. It has a 7 year limited warranty and 3 year full replacement.

I purchased a Duralast Gold battery last year and it's been great. ~ $80. Consumer Reports rated it at the top of the list, better than many name brands. Your not going to get much better than the warranty it comes with.

Duralast Gold here as well. Installed it myself May'08. Great battery with a great warranty. The only problem I had was the salesman giving me a battery with the positive and negative post on the wrong side and I had to turn around and take it back for the correct one. No problems other than that.
