M45 2008 frying my Ipods(s)

I leave my Ipod plugged in all the time (is this the problem). Anyway, I've burned through 3 Ipods in the last 2 weeks. Costco is getting tired of replacing them. I can only attribute this to the electronics being turned on during car startup and a powersurge frying the Ipod. But what do I know?

Has anyone else had problems with their Ipods becoming nonfunctional after being plugged in to the Ipod interface on their Ms?

i had my ipod plug into the car like yours did/....

so far no problem.. but cross my finger.. ~

Power surge is fring the ipod. This is the reason why officers do not jumpstart cars any more.

Used mine every day in my 08 for last 6 months, never had a problem, although possibly its overcharging the battery? It charges constantly when plugged in i believe. I use mine basically 6 days a week in the gym, for roughly 2 hours so mines always in a discharging/charging cycle.

I have noticed that when I plug in my Ipod to the power port. It won't power up unless it is pushed all the way in and pulled back slightly.
