Hey guy's im new to Nico club and I must say it's cool and I love it! I also own a 2004 M45 with all the options and this is the best car a road hog on the road. I do have a few questions. In past questions I was on old post about the blue startup smoke and understand that an OIL CATCH CAN will fix the blue start up smoke. I have NO problem with oil consuming. The driver seat is loose the weld looks broke under the base of the seat. The fuel gage does act funny not reading the correct amount at times. I understand that the M45 are built with a HYDRAULIC COOLING FAN SYSTEM I really am not sure what job it serves. Here is the problem I noticed some oil like stains on my drive way I took the car to get looked at and my mechanic tells me is the valve cover gasket...so I said ok and I got the job done. The next day I still see this oil looking substance on the drive way...I take the M45 back to him and he finds out that the HYDRAULIC COOLING FAN is leaking somewhere. This cooling fan unit consists of 18 different parts...none of the parts is expensive I had a diagram of the cooling fan system and he pin pointed that is was the motor assembly of the unit.

Welcome!
There is a recall regarding your gas gauge not reading right. You should be able to get it fixed at an Infiniti dealer for free. I believe you may have to call Infiniti Consumer Affairs (corporate) and give them your info as the current owner. There are several threads on this furom about it.

I'm not sure of your other concerns - hopefully someone can chime in.

Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm still getting use to the site. Thanks for the great info I will call the dealership and get this started.

I am currently battling with cooling fan fluid leaks as well. There are several hose connections that you can check, easiest way to find them is to get a copy of the FSM. Page CO-19 has a drawing.
The cooling fan hydraulics are powered by the water pump, which has an integral hydraulic pump for the fan. Mine is currently leaking from behind this pump, so the fix will likely require a new water pump 8-[
One of the high-pressure connections to the fan motor is right on the top left of the water pump (facing the pump), maybe see if fluid is leaking from there, you may be able to fix it with a new O-ring.
For now, I'm just feeding the leak. (Power steering fluid.) If yours is low, you'll notice a whirring kind of sound from it.

We share the same problem. I like the detailed information you provided on the post. I will start to trace this leak I would hope it is just a hose. If it is the water pump I will just replace it. I am hearing a whirring sound that I did not hear before I looked and I need to add fluid I will add soon. Power steering is it ok if I use it? I will have to check out the diagram that you have described. Thanks for the great information.
