Hi guys. Is it possible to swap in my beloveth vk45 engine from my M45 into an fx35 engine bay? I'm just considering this options, seeing that parts especially suspensions, seems to be difficult finding in my country.

Thanks.

Yes, the VK45DE engine from your M45 can fit in a FX35 engine bay; after all there exists a vehicle called FX45 which is the same body, only with a VK45.

However, you're going to need other parts and adjustments to make it work - transmission bellhousing, proper engine mounts, wiring, ECU communication protocol, just to name a few.

If the availability of parts is what has you considering this, then the swap doesnt seem like it's going to be any better financially. Also consider that your homemade FX45 is going to be a little different than a factory FX45.
In the US, there are a few sources for aftermarket suspension for the 03/04 M45.

Thanks for the response. It's a Herculean tasks getting the lower arms of my car for a long time now. I wished such parts are easy to come by in Lagos.

Instead of replacing the whole control arm, could you find a shop that is able to get a polyurethane bushing of the same size the control arm needs and then just swap bushings? Unless the actual arm itself is cracked or broken.
Or just take the control arm off and press the bushings out yourself and try to find one the same size.

I have pressed the bushings out and inserted new ones already. My problem is the ball joints are weak already now. Is there any way that can be replaced without the whole assembly (it's attached permanently to the aluminum lower control arms)?

Thanks for your time

This one is not for your car, but it looks like just ball joints are available:

I would imagine the joint should be replaceable in your lower control arm as well if you can find a compatible sized ball joint.

I was taking a look at pictures of your model year control arm and it does look slightly different with the arm area below the ball joint looking like a solid piece of aluminum. However, that ball joint has to get in there somehow, it is its own piece not part of casting the aluminum so it has to be removable somehow.
