Try this link http://www.fantasycars.com/sedans/html/infm45.htmlI don't know where they came up with the quarter mile time (14.3 for the M and the Q45 was 14.6) but I can see how Q45Tech has had a problem with them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:thumbup

LOL I don't think the car's all that hideous... I used to think it was ugly but now the design's grown on me. It sure would look better with lowenhart's, tinted windows and all black.

14.3 is pretty quick but I've done a 14.8@95mph when it was 65deg out in my bone stock Q. I think with a few mods a first gen could make it close.

I intend to make it very close indeed, when my 4.08 comes in, to back up my ECU.

Do you think that 4.08 will kill your top end, Mr. Silver State Classic? :pface

Look at the 14.6 or 7 sec in new Q45. I'm going after the N20 myself since the s/c never came about.Retard ignition, colder plugs, from 320 to 370 hp with no damage to engine, but I think the tranny will be needing some more mods......................:thumbup

I dont think I am quite at redline, with the current diff at 170mph.I will have to check my rpm as they are now but off the cuff I think I in the mid 3000's at 100 mph or so.And due to VVT I still have good power even at very hi rpm.

But I will check my rpms soon.

My redline is 7200 rpm..:D.

333 rpm per 10 mph goes to 385 rpm ....7200/385= 187 mph at redline with 4.083 diff gear......just 6550 rpm @170 mph vs 5660

On a stretch of flat road, I was cruising at 100 and the rpms were below 3000.

I don't think that's normal. Is that typical?

You assume the tach is accurate and/or the speedometer is accurate.

All Q [90-96] with a 800 rev/mile [loaded] tire and 3.538 diff do 333 rpm per 10 mph in 4th gear.....the 97-01 have a 3.69 dif gear so 347-350 rpm per 10 mph.V8 typically turn 2,000 rpm [+-100] at 60 mph as this is the sweet spot between generating enough torque to cruise level and the minimal use of gasoline.....the smaller 97 engine needed 2100 or 5% more thus the 5% higher diff ratio....smaller V6 need 2400 rpms or so to accomplish the same torque if it is a 4 valve per cylinder.

Now one must consider torque convertor slip but at a steady speed on a level road this will be insignficant.

You must know the rolling circum of the tire you are using to get the EXACT RPM.....are your tires 77,78,79,80, or 81" around squished and loaded?
