Please add your wish list of upgrades for the M37X. Performance and Cosmetic? Is there any options for lowering to reduce the wheel gap? How about lights, inside and outside? There are not a lot of topics on here yet for the M37X and I would like to get some ideas going for this car.

Picked this one up last Saturday. Added Aero Kit, Illuminated door sills, Upgraded rims, Black grille, 3M 35% windown tint all around. These pictures were taken the day before pick-up when the window tint was completed at the dealership. We have not driven it yet other than to get it home and in the garage. Have another lease waiting to end on a CTS, plus the weather is not great so why mess it up. This also gives me time to prepare other mods to the car if we want.

I picked up my M37x a few months ago and I love it! I like the aero kit and widow treatment. Can you tell me how much those cost to add? Looks great!

The aero kit was added by the dealer without an additonal cost to the bill. The tinting was done by a company in the area that also does houses, etc. They came to the dealer and did the job for $300. I had them put the higher grade 3M tint on all windows which cost more but is worth it. They are lifetime guarenteed.

The aerokit looks great. Completes the sport look.

Bizman, did you end up finding a lowering kit for the car? There is only one company that makes a lowering kit engineered specifically for this model. I ordered the kit on tuesday. It's coming from Japan so I should have it on in about 3 weeks.

It drops 1.7" front and 1.2" rear. This makes the overall height 1.2"/0.7" lower than the Sports model.( since the sport is 0.5" already lower stock) I wouldn't want to completely slam it.

Do you have any pictures of the mods you've done so far? I wanted to do the aero kit, but its not an option is Canada for some reason.

Here are a couple pictures of M37/M56's that have accessories and additions that I would like to add if I had the car..

1) Completely black out the grille and add the wheels that are on the left M56 in this pic:

2) Lower it on Teins Comfort:

3) Add some lights to the bottom of the bumper. I believe these are the fog lights found on the Mercedes-Benz E-class:

And here's just a cool photo I found while I was looking around..

Bizman,

i think the car looks fantastic--but if you're still thinking about mods, how about?

1. Roof spoiler--don't know what they have for the M37/56, although some folks don't like them
2. Change out the amber bulbs to the chrome stealth bulbs to get rid of the sunny side egg look
3. All interior LEDs

I just took off the grille and blacked it out. I only left the emblem chrome. I also lowered it on RSR springs, which are the only springs engineered for the AWD version of this car. Rides great. I like it because it isn't completely slammed. Rims are coming next week. 22" Vossen CV1 black/machine. Here's a picture of the black grill and the before/after lowering.

Its hard to distinguish the difference in the lowering from these pics. Can you try some new ones that show how much was lowered? Looks great so far! I definitely want to lowert the 37X but needed to wait to see if they made something specifically for this vehicle. I did not want to screw up anything.

Also, where did you find the RSR Springs? How much did they cost and did you have them installed? Installation cost? Infiniti dealer install them or do you know someone that knows how to set this up properly on this car? Thanks.

Click on these pictures to zoom in and see. It will still settle a bit.

These pictures are about an hour after putting on the springs so it should still settle a bit lower. The drop is 1.7" front and 1.2" rear. Works out to be 1.2" and 0.7" lower than the stock sport model. I wish it was another half inch lower, but then I would have needed a camber kit. The current drop gave a negative camber of about 0.7% all around. Borderline needing a camber adjustment kit (probably another $600 installed). It will look lower when I get the 22's. I'll try to get some angles from eye's height later this week once the rain stops. I couldn't imagine too many companies doing the research to develop a lower kit, since the market isn't that big. Supposedly Japan sells a lot more AWD models than North America increasing the demand. I called Eibach and they said they have no plans of making a kit for the AWD.

The springs aren't listed anywhere online. I got them through Jason Burtman and Burtman industries. 717-469-4130. He's in Pennsylvania. He seems to be able to dig and find things that nobody can find. They are made for the 2011 Nissan Fuga 4WD in Japan (Y51), which is the same car. As far as I know, there is no other kit available. It cost me $599 + shipping. I wanted express shipping straight from Japan, so I paid $250 shipping charge. I think standard shipping to the US is about $100. It isn't something that you can install yourself. The dealership wanted too much to install them ($1000), so I found a place called International Auto and Customs that installed the springs and did a laser alignment for $400. I got a few cheaper prices, but I felt more comfortable with a customs shop with a clean shop and a great track record.

InfinitiPartsUSA.com has better prices:

If you have adaptive headlights (move while you turn corners) -> http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0
If you have non-adaptive headlights -> http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0

Or you could always take on the challenge of painting them yourself! There's a write up DIY for doing it, albeit on a 2006 M, floating around the forums somewhere.

Bizman2125 - Aero kit and wheels look nice! Did you think about upgrading to the 20" factory gunmetal wheels instead of the upgraded 18s? Just curious. I'm not sure I know of anyone who's installed the 20"ers on an AWD yet..

I did not know about the gunmetal wheels at the time and wish I did. Wife might not like the ride of ther 20" wheels either. She drives the car 80% of the time. I am considering lowering the car soon, but again, worry about the ride quality.

Since the sport models come with adaptive lights as a standard feature, does this mean that all of the black-housing lights will be adaptive as well? I have the X and didn't get any upgrade for adaptive lights. Will the adaptive lights function properly on any model or does the computer need to know they are on to work?

The sport models do not come with AFS as a standard feature. It requires that they add the Technology Package on top of the sport packages for an extra cost of $3,000. Not all the sport model (blacked) headlights have AFS. Also, you can't put in AFS headlights into a non-AFS supported car. First, AFS requires the extra components and controls that would not be inside a non-AFS vehicle, as well as requires an On/Off switch near the drivers side dashboard controls.

So I ordered Vossen CV1's 22" x 9" all around becasue of the AWD issue. I am sortod worried about how it will look without the concave. Have you seen anyone go staggered on an infiniti AWD? According to the miata wheel calculator, 255/30/22 and 305/25/22 have identical diameters. Any experience with this? If it will work I may order the 2 rear wheels at 10.5" wide, try them out and then sell the 2 originals 9" wide rears. According to my photoshop, this is how it will look non-staggered. Any opinions?

what size was the wheels stock? How is the ride? My M came with 20s and it rides perfect so I did not want to lose the feel so I ordered new 20s but they will be staggered. but those wheels and the drop looks perfect. Nice job.

Thanks,
Those pictures where photoshopped. The wheels actually only came in 2 days ago - looks better when its actually on the car. 9 weeks after I ordered them!! The ride is definately a lot harsher than before; I was riding 18's originally so it's a huge difference. It looks and handles great and I think the trade-off between looks/handling and comfort is worth it for me. I don't need a cushion ride at this age. I will post some pics of how it actually looks soon.
