Greetings guys,
So I did the akebono brake upgrade, along with the rotors on both my M's...I noticed the pedal would go to the floor north of 120 and figured I just needed to slow down a bit, well it's doing that now at low speeds on both cars... took one into the dealership and they recommended that the master cylinder be replaced...transmission flush.. differentials changed over.. my question to you guys anyone else having these issues after akebono upgrade? And besides Jcwhitney any reputable place to purchase that master cylinder and avoid that $800 dealer hit...?

You probably just have air in your lines.

Re-bleed your brake lines with a power brake bleeder or helper-method and DO NOT LET THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR GO DRY. You must get every bubble of air out.

On my other vehicle (*cough* Ford *cough*), this problem can be caused by installing the calipers on the wrong side (L onto R, and R onto L). This means the bleeder screws don't end up on the TOP of the caliper. Instead they end up on the bottom, which traps some air inside that cannot be bled out. Are you sure your calipers are mounted with the bleeders on the top?

I had no issues upgrading my brakes. As others said; bleed them thoroughly and in the correct order. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's RR, LR, FR, FL. Also note these calipers each have 2 valves to bleed.

Is the OEM MC different between BBK-equipped and non-BBK-equipped models?
