So I needed to take a 3.5 hr/one way trip for a job the other day. Decided to see what kind of mileage I can squize out of the M. I got 25.9 MPG after a 7 hr trip with 99% highway. I did 450 mi before filling up again. The weather was in the 40s F, no percipitation, with some good wind gusts in all directions at different times. 65% on mostly flat interstate and the other 35% very hilly/mountenous interstate driving. CC on most of the time with ECO when not on CC. Speeds were around 70 MPH for the most part with some short 75/65 MPH stretches. I did get passed by several tractor trailers, many minivans and one school bus :chuckle:
Seems like pretty decent number, what you guys think?

I say that sounds about right, I drove my M37S from Snellville Ga to B'ham, Ala and back and she still had a little over 1/4 tank of gas left in her and I was cruising around 70-73 mph, had to open her up a little and it was fun. B'ham, Ala is a little over 160 miles one way.

My 07 M35 non-sport doesn't have the ECO mode and and has the 5-speed gear box. I drove form South FL up to NY last month. My MPG was bordering on 25 until we reached the northern colder states and approaching NY it dropped to 23 (due to the car guzzling more in below freezing temps). My cruise was set at 70 for nearly the entire trip regardless of posted speeds. (I can't be bothered with states like Georgia where the limit changes from 70 to 60 to 70 to 65 and back to 70 all in the course of an hour or so). In MD we had to use their 'beltway' which is littered with speed cams like the M motorways back home so we had to drop to 60mph (posted 55mph). I wasn't really paying attention so I can't say for sure, but I believe it took about 7 tanks of fuel each way whilst driving there and another tank or two driving around in NY while we there.

I get about 26mpg highway on my m56 if driving alone, once I nursed 27 on "eco." With passengers on "standard" or "sport" I get about 25. Apparently, it's a fallacy to assume that a larger engine will burn fuel like the space shuttle.

no trips in my M37x yet but I am getting 19.7 - 21 mpg with plenty of full throttle launches at every light. I don't care much about mileage and don't think it would be possible to get worse MPG than this.
