So, I need to replace the brake pads on my car. A 2012 M37S. Love my car BTW. I don't really want to change out the rotors, because they seem to be just fine. I come here to ask. What pads to you all recommend and why? How hard is this job to do? Are there some online instructions I can follow? Anything special about the S I should know about before I start?

Thanks for your time!

Matt

Wrote a how to on how to change the brakes...see my signature. As for which pads, you can literally use whatever, just read reviews. StopTech, Raybestos, your auto parts store special...just make sure its for your year and model.

Most here use the Brakemotive (or similar) eBay kits that come with 4 rotors and 4 pads...so no idea what the pad is.

I recommend ceramic pads. They don't usually stop as good as semi metallic pads but the brake dust is less corrosive and less noticeable between washes. Check out rockauto.com they have good prices on pads. There is always a 5 percent off coupon available online too. Just google rock auto promo
